What's new

Following potential 2012 draftees

PJ3's passivity is a concern even for me, but his natural talent is more impressive than Zeller's conservative talent. Higher upside. I think the Jazz' offense will be better for him than Baylor's. Also, I'm still not convinced he can't play the 3. His outside shot is good. He can also post up if need be. His length is great. He's not the fastest at the position but he's not slowest. He's probably better at the 3 than AK was. Certainly better offensively.

Maybe more will be learned in workouts but I won't close the door on PJ3 at the 3 until I learn more. The guy's just too talented - and at pick 9 it's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned.

You've gotta take him if he is available at #9. I am 100% convinced ( based solely on my own opinion ) that he will be a much better pro than college player, Baylor has no discipline, no real offense, no one even remotely trying to get him involved, nothing but chuckers. I would take him.

Why are we talking about post players when we already have four? We want a PG and/or a wing. I'm all for BPA, but where we're picking, I'm not convinced there is a clear-cut BPA, so you go with BPA at a position of need, imo.

I agree and this is the general rule. BPA regardless where you're picking, if too close to call, go need.

Let's just say that Quincy Miller as a 3 and PJIII as a 4 are - for all intents and purposes - the same prospect: Talented as hell, quizzically low production, consistency, and impact. We need a 3. We do not need a 4. We're swimming in bigs right now.

We have 4 now. After next season, two of them will be expired. Possibly by next season, 1 will be traded. Getting a big man makes sense.

I know that you are saying this because of Zeller but I still agree with your statement. It isn't necessarily about next year but the year after and so on.

Yes, for one of those good SFs that are just laying around that no one is being specific about.

I don't know, maybe I'm just being negative .. or maybe I'm trying to justify reading 320+ pages of draft thoughts .. but I just don't feel we finish out our roster through trades without giving up some of those very pieces we're trying to complete.

PKM: Whatever happens tonight, I hope you still give the boys a pat on the back (both literally, and figuratively). UK has made serious strides, and they have really had a helluva run. Even in the instance of an upset, they'll still go down as one of the most powerful college teams in recent memory. Hoping for a very exciting game later tonight. For the record, I guessed 2 months ago that UK would get to the final four, but then lose in the championship game. So I guess we will find out what happens. KU has got a decent team as well, I guess it all depends on who's clicking, and who isn't.

No doubt Dalamon. Once a UK player, UK player for life. Win or lose, these are some of my favorite UK players all time.
