What's new

Following potential 2012 draftees

I had soured on TJones at the end of last year and the beginning of this year. He seemed disinterested the few times I saw him play. I questioned his motor and attitude a bit. I think he may struggle guarding SF on the perimeter in the NBA but the kid showed me a lot during the tournament. He displayed toughness and grit. I would be ok with picking him at 12 or 13 but I still have convinced myself that I would pick him higher (GS pick). TJones was not someone I would have considered last year but I think the extra year of school helped his maturity. I would definitely take him with our pick but I would have to see who we get with the GS pick.

I would love to get Beal, Rivers, Marshall, PJIII or Lillard depending on where we pick. I still would love to get MKG but the Jazz would have to move up to get him. Not a big fan of Quincy Miller. Perhaps it is his ball-hog teammates or a lack of effort but I just wasn't impressed with his game.

I'm not advocating a TJones pick, btw, just sharing my thoughts as we have spoken at length about every other possible pick.

I like T Jones more than PJ III. PJ III= underachieving headcase. A talented dude without any attitude or motor. T Jones to me has a good motor, toughness, and underrated athleticism. Something we lack. On nights (like last night) when most of our team is in cruise control, a nasty block or dunk he'd provide would help jump-start our soft lackadaisical team. He's a smaller version of Lamar Odom with heart and brains. Yes please. His length alone would add dimensions to this team. Kanter, Favors, Tjones, and Hayward might help create the best defensive team in the league.

Jones was measured/weighed on March 8th;

6'9.25
256lbs
wingspan - 7'2.5

I know a lot of you don't care, but Trey Burke is staying at Michigan and will not be entering the draft. I would look for him to be in the draft next year for sure.

Good decision for him, imo. I think he'll improve his draft stock by 20 spots in doing so ..

Oh. Don't know for sure .. just the chatter at UK is he's heading to WKU. Doesn't make any sense to me, unless he just wants to play 40 minutes.

He is taking the course to the NBA that is taught by Jeremy Evans. Trying to go unnoticed to the suck teams in the NBA and hope that a team that can actually scout (Utah, San Antonio, OKC) picks him up.

NBAdraft.net actually has Hood going 6th overall next year :). Too bad he is going to spend a year in transfer purgatory.

Yes, I couldn't tell you why, but I know that there is. Hopefully PKM can clear this up for us.

I am not aware of any rule that waives the transfer rules based on a coaching change. Sometimes you can get out of it if you are having a family medical emergency (IE your father has terminal cancer.) Also if you have graduated college but still have college eligiblity left you can go and start grad school and play immediately. The only other out I know if if your program have NCAA sanctions that prevent you from reaching the post season for the rest of your college career.

If you have never paid for the team you have commited for and the Coach leaves (before you arrive) you can usually get a release from the school and play immediately.

I believe Hood would have to sit out a year at Louisville or WKU.

I guess I just assumed he was undersized because of his ability to play on the perimeter. That's not great size, but good enough.

Basically. And he has the handles to get by his man on the perimeter. I can see lots of PF's getting frustrated trying to guard him outside of the paint.

Apparently Duke is putting some feelers out to him. That would be cool.
