Following potential 2012 draftees

You can have your ESA. I'd rather not be with a couple hundred people I do not know anyways.

Try a couple thousand. For me, it's all about being a part of the experience--Jazz nation getting together when we draft a key player to our future; being a part of history.

I can see that. For myself personally though I'd prefer a good group of people, food, music and just relax.

I'm that sorta guy too, actually. But this is the sort of event I might feel strange passing up on...I like being able to say that I was there when we drafted Kanter and Burks. If they end up being incredible, that's the sort of thing that would be fun to tell my kids some day. I'm just always jealous when someone says, "I was there when we drafted Malone" and etc. Now it's my turn to be a part of history, and I think I would regret not taking advantage of that opportunity.

My business partner and i get together and watch the draft and have a party up in Logan.

I would even be up for heading up north if a bunch of us where there. Would be interesting to place faces and personalities with the names I see on here.

Work or are you finally getting those butt implants that you have always wanted?

Considering the size of my butt it would be a reduction. No I don't know if my sons chemo will be scheduled that night. To far out we go a few weeks at a time. Sitting in the emergency room now because he collapsed today and is running a fever of almost 103 pretty scary for a kid with no white blood cells.

Dammnit! I knew that!

How is he doing? I can only imagine the hearache and fear that has to cause. How is the outlook?

OT: I know this post will annoy some folks .. but just seems completely mind-numbing to me that UK is expected to lose ALL five starters and the 6th man to the NBA draft (following the NC) and yet comes into the first pre-season poll (CBS) for next year at #1. I know the answer to this, but how in the hell do you lose your entire team and still be ranked #1?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Kentucky has no salary cap

Just hopped back into this thread after a few days off. Random thoughts from catching up:

-Jeremy Lamb's team not only underperformed this season without Kemba, but the U19 USA team also underperformed to the tune of a 5th place finish with him as team leader/scorer. So the idea that he "just plays winning basketball" is sorta shot in the *** there. He's like Monta Ellis in that he will prob score in the league but will likely take almost as many shots as points scored, and will always be on mediocre to bad teams his whole career if he's one of the center pieces.

-Bummed 'Bazz went UCLA. Worst place for him. Would have loved to see Rice coach him at UNLV, or at least UK over Howland and UCLA.

-St George in the summer? Are you a masochist? (maybe we'll golf....I have friends with a VaCa home down there.)

Agree with your first two points, Bodhi. As for golfing in the summer, that's crazy talk! I'm more of an archaeologist/adventure/explore the AZ strip kinda guy. Used to golf about 300 holes per week, then lost interest. At the risk of sounding weird, I'm now a treasure hunter .. I used to be neighbors (in the Florida Keys) with Mel Fisher and he invited me, several times, to dive on the Atocha and I've been hooked ever since. There's some Spanish treasure out this way .. I've found some stuff but nothing major yet. Did find a big one in Mexico, though, in the southern part of the state of Chihuahua. Happy to take people out on these excursions .. as I'm not doing it for the money (thankfully).

I might be very interested in that PKM...especially if it is going somewhere cool and I have time to plan for it (time off work, arrange kids with the ex...). That would be a fun new experience.

Cool. Anyone that wants a PM head's up next time I'm going out, just let me know.

Got you on the list, Stoked.

6am St George tee times, 4-5 times a summer, are sorta my guilty pleasure. So maybe I'm the masochist...

Umm, sure.............cool.............treasure hunting, not.......umm, weird..........AT ALL! I'll have to dust off my extensive khaki and bandana collection and come join you. (There will be monkey brains, rope swings and Nazi's chasing us......right?)
