Following potential 2012 draftees

Not much time right now. Maybe something (tiny) to share when I can. Having drinks, so I'll share later .. or tomorrow. ;)

I need something to hope for. You might have that piece of information. Please try and find some time tonight to share.

PS, when I saw the you posted something PKM, I was extremely excited. I have to say that I am disappointed in you right now.

/Sarcasm, or at least hoping for my own sake that it is sarcasm

PKM, you have a following now. When you came onto this board some people questioned your opinions and now they are admitting their disappointment when you don't post some juicy gossip.

After watching Tony Parker shred our defense I am less inclined to draft Marshall because I don't think he can stay in front of Tony Parker. I know there are a lot of PGs who can't but I think the Jazz need a quicker guard. At least that is what I am thinking now. It doesn't really matter because the Jazz at this point do not have a pick.

Yeah, but the Jazz offense looks like hogswash right now.
The offense is so terrible, we're repeatedly asking a very low efficient low post scorer to put the ball in every time down the court.

This is like when you have a crush on a girl then she tells you she doesn't want to date and are crushed, but she still tries to be your friend, so you start thinking that maybe there's a chance, all you have to do is convince her, play it cool, do the right things, she'll learn what a great guy you are and fall in love with you, you always still have a chance, don't give up, maybe she will go out with you if you ask, just lean in, give her a ..... Slap.

She's just playing hard to get.

Rough dating life you got there. 8-)

Had dinner and drinks with some folks last night. There are actually two teams we're talking with. We ARE trying to deal Al. One team wanted Sap but was told no. However, they do not want/need Al. We are currently pushing a cash and 2 future picks (I 'believe' it's a 1st next year and a 2nd in '14) .. no idea how that is being rec'd. Yes, it is Houston, confirmed.

Also, take this with a grain of salt (I am), but was told the Jazz are NOT high on either Lillard or Marshall. I asked who they're zeroing in on around 15'ish .. they SAID they didn't know and I truly have no idea. Will this deal work? Obviously no one knows .. but what IS promising, is that it at least appears this is more than just a simple floater of an idea.

Meeting some more folks in Chicago this coming Monday .. maybe there will be something else, but I just think there's way too much fluidity for there to be any truly reliable insider stuff. If KOC doesn't know if there's a deal, no one does. I'm not claiming to have any substantial info, just sharing the roundtable rumors with those that enjoy a little drama. Please understand though that nothing is anything more than talk (I know everyone knows that, just sayin').

After last night, talking is all I need to let my imagination run wild. Thanks for the info. You will be repped accordingly.

Haha, just noticed today is the 6month anniversary of this thread. Like many have said .. kinda sad, really.

I know that there are many of you here that feel like this thread is worthless now. I am not one of them.

At the risk of being ridiculed and made fun of, here is my reasoning behind why this is not a worthless thread.

1)This has been the most consistent thread all season long. Regardless of what is happening with the Jazz we have always been able to come back and enjoy talking about pieces that might help this team in the future.

2)We are broadening our horizons. Many of us (myself included), have taken a closer look at the future of the Jazz as well as the future of the NBA. I have been a March College bball fan for most of my life. This year was different. I was actively seeking out certain games to watch certain guys play.

3)Regardless of the outcome of Jazz games, this thread has always brought a sense of hope.

Huh.

Not high on either Lillard or Marshall, eh? Say if this were to be taken seriously, I gather two bits of info from a statement like this (I realize that this was just chit-chat)

a) The Jazz are busy trying to target a PG via F/A, or trade
b) The Jazz are very keen on someone else slotted at the 14th spot, maybe 2 other players as well (depending on who falls). Who could the Jazz be poking at, at 14th? Rivers? Quincy Miller?

Now heres the interesting part: Al, + cash, + 2 future picks for.......???

- This is a lot of salary
- If its true that we aren't interested in Lillard of Marshall, and we plan on making this trade with a team that has two quite good point guards, then....anyone else catch my drift?

I feel like we are targeting either Lowry or Dragic. Dragic only works if its a sign-and-trade. The only thing that doesn't make much sense at this stage in the game, is the fact that we need to take a ****load of salary back. Houston doesn't have any trade exceptions that I know of. Will we be taking Delambert for Cap Relief? Martin? Hmmm. We also have a meaty trade exception, meaning that we could take either player without having to deal Al, really. Of course, I feel like Houston is longing for a center, and McHale loves Jefferson

Who's the other team?
Was it Houston that wanted Sap and did not want/need Al?

Portland? Makes sense, we know they like him, they have 2 picks, and their picks would actually be in a position to ask for Millsap. NO is another possibility with 2 picks. They have Kaman (similar player to AJ) and Okeafor.

Are you saying the Jazz are seeking cash and two future picks for Al, or that they are including them in a package WITH Al?
