What's new

Following potential 2012 draftees

How do you guys feel about Khris Middleton? He was pretty good two years ago, but this year he was hampered by injuries. Maybe a solid pick in the second round?

A swing with bad legs? Xavier Henry comes to mind.

I’m going to pass because I have already irrationally locked onto Kyle O’Quinn as this years target. But I have to admit I'm still in the process of evaluating (looking how tall they are) other 2nd round prospects like Henry Sims, Garret Stutz, and Robert Sacre. And the Euros like Furkan Aldemir (I like him because he is from Turkey and his first name inspires many 'creative' nicknames) Leon Radosevic, Ognjen Kuzmic, Dusan Cantekin, Alen Omik , Joefrry Lauvaergne and Tomas Zubcic.

If the jazz settle for someone shorter than 6-10 it had better be Mike Scott, the one from Virginia not Scranton.

It’s going to be a long summer if the Jazz don’t get a 1st round pick…..

You guys are overrating Rivers and Q. Miller. They have skills but they have been inconsistent. Rivers hasn't proven he can be a PG and Q. Miller is suspect that he is completely healthy and disappeared in a lot of games.

I already have lots of stress in my life I don't need to be worrying about losing both Millsap and Kanter.

Hopefully karma ****s GS in the *** and we get #8. That would solve so so many of our problems.

If anyone has time, they should see how many 8 or lower seeds have gotten a top 3 pick. That would make me comfortable or uncomfortable.

We have something like a 27 percent chance. Honestly, the 8 pick would be such a gift. We could definitely get a player there. And it's a big boost to our collection of tradeable assets should we make a move for a proven PG or wing this offseason.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the GS pick top-7 protected next year, top 6 in 2014 and then it becomes two second rounders automatically?

That would be a disaster. And it's feasible it could happen. GSW is a hot mess. They have two good players, both of whom can't stay on the floor.

I cannot believe that KOC would consider trading Kanter for the 14th and 16th pick. The idea of including Millsap is beyond any reasonable understanding. If the Jazz trade Kanter they are admitting they screwed up so what gives anyone the idea that they are going to get the 14th and 16th pick right. If they wanted to get two picks they should have tanked the season by playing the young guys. I just think some Clutchcity nerd is having a moment of wishful thinking.

This little tidbit got taken out of context and/or took on a life of its own. I stated what HOU threw out there, not what KOC was considering doing. I was only enthused to hear the talks are regular, as I take that to mean both sides 'feel' a trade of some nature is workable.

Is this the worry of confusion that you were talking about yesterday?

You can definitely count me in on +1 Rep if you could entertain us with this.

Damn you all for posting so much while I have been gone. Let me see if I can get caught up.

Pkm you rock forget the haters and embrace the love. I almost wet myself when you said the jazz liked Tjones and jtaylor. If Taylor goes 16 then I win the bet and have bragging rights. I do like his game and like the game of jones too. Would be a sweet draft.

As for millsap AND kanter I would say to Houston go shoot a rocket up your ***. The only players on Houston that I like are budinger, lee and lowry. Would take dalembert just to have a 4th big next year. If they want kanter we want Lowry.

Qmiller holds little interest for me right now. I see bust all over his attitude. Pkm said give me 5 guys that can dribble, pass ... Etc. (to lazy to go back and look it up) I say give me 5 guys with heart willing to work hard and never give up. They will improve and the team will win.

I agree getting the 8th pick will solve a ton but I am tired of being let down by gsw I am proceeding on the assumption we have no first rounder.

No way, they are future All-Stars. They are just going in the mid-round because they are lowered their stock purposely throughout the sesaon so we can get them.

And as much as I enjoy PKM's inside rumblings, let us reminds ourselves that the experts who leak rumors before the draft rarely know what KOC is doing and that the Jazz frequently state they like everyone in the draft so teams don't know who they are targeting.

I echo this. Like I've said, the ONLY thing of substance is that the Jazz are speaking with HOU regularly (as well as the Cavs). I doubt we'll know many truths other than talks are happening.

Yes I agree with this as well.. but boy do some of us here take a simple 'possible long-shot proposal/scenario' so seriously. I mean we haven't even had the lottery yet, let alone draft night.

Shouting 'Not Trading Kanter No F***ing Way' as if your life depended on it is just absurd.

I am not in favor if trading Kanter, especially if it involves Milsap, but if the Rockets trade included either Buddinger or Lowry and a contract filler, that might be worth considering.

I don't care about truths I just want something to pass the boredom now that the jazz season is over. A glimmer of hope to lighten the dark recesses of mind.
