Following potential 2012 draftees

PKM, I have a request of you. After the draft is over will you please tell us some of the things that you have been hearing? It is always fun to hear about things that didn't come to fruition but that were still in the works. Is that possible or will your "sources" get upset?

I don't think they mind me sharing as long as the deal isn't currently in the works. There is one deal they asked to never be let out because of the player's feelings/politics. I should be able to share most of it though.

I may upgrade to a premium account and start a PKM section devoted to items such as;

- HS/collegiate players too far out for real draft talk
- Treasure hunting
- other random crap

I know that I would frequent it.

DraftExpress New Orleans trades Emeka Okafor and Trevor Ariza to Washington for Rashard Lewis and the #46 pick. (damn you auto-correct)

Very interesting. Yes, this is very Jazz related.

Rumor has it that with the trade Washington is targeting beal with the 3rd pick. If Robinson goes 2 we could see a slide with mkg. The cavs seem set to draft Barnes. The sactown could get mkg or Drummond. Suture thing with holes vs the potential with out desire. the Portland doesn't need mkg with Batum a RFA. They would be hoping sactown took mkg so they can get Drummond.

There is a chance mkg could slide to 7. I can't see gsw passing on him.

Wait for it....

I brought him up earlier in this thread as someone I'd most definitely punch a baby in the face or throw an old woman down the stairs for the Jazz to get. He is not ready to make the jump to the NBA, however. Still needs another year in college. He's still got some strides to make on the mental side, as well as learning how to play. But the facts are he's got the ideal frame for a center. Great athleticism, and excellent skill offensively. He's got great post moves, range out to 18 feet and can pass. However, he can't do all of that consistently quite yet. He can block shots, but he's still got a long ways to go defensively playing every possession.

I'm as crazed a fan for my alma mater as I am the Jazz and have watched every game. Meyers has made some improvements this year, but he still has a bunch of lapses where he gets too overcome with emotion (whether its not getting touches when he's open, bad calls from the refs, cheap shots from opponents, etc) and he takes himself out of the game. He's also been dominant at times.

Odds are he'll leave because he'll be a lotto pick, but he won't be a solid contributor in the NBA for at least a few years. But he has the tools to be an NBA All-Star if he continues to work hard (and he does have a great work ethic).

He's my favorite Illini since Dee and I'm praying he stays because he could be unstoppable next year with a year of college experience under his belt. Last year, his true frosh season, is a wash because he barely played.

is he supposed to be available 2nd round? maybe we can trade al jeff up for like a higher pick to get him i youtubed him after seeing that he looks good. draftexpress.com i dont if you guys have heard of that site but they are like the nba's mock draft site and has him goin real high. him and favors would be scarrryyy

pkm is a leonard hater so im sure judging by this thread that ill get bashed.

Is that you ncolorado? Am I getting warmer?

I never said I hated Leonard, I simply said he is more raw and I wouldn't take him in the top 10 .. or something like that. Anyway, I see Leonard as having great potential, but I'm not in love with him.

This is for you catchall:

Sam Amico: Lakers "making real push" to get into 1st round of NBA Draft, says EC exec. Word is they like the Baylor guys: Perry Jones & Quincy Miller.

And ask yourself, is it possible that someone could convince a potential high lottery pick from last year to withdraw from the draft and then coast for a year so that the player is undervalued and could be picked up by the team he wants?

or a mock draft
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/eye-on-basketball/19393294

where NOH get Davis and Drummond.

or

How about current Jazfanz dream boy, savior pg Kendal Marshal announcing "I got my tail whipped every day by Raymond Felton" and ask yourself then why don't the jazz just sign FA Raymond Felton.

Or

Sam Amick: In the continuing draft circuit, I'm told Kansas F Thomas Robinson had his way w/ UConn C Andre Drummond in a Cleveland workout today (No.2)

OK, I don't expect Marshall to be good on 1 on 1 games. So if that's what it was, then ok I get it. Felton is a high draft pick, so makes sense.
If it was like a 5 on 5 game, then that's real sad because I clearly remember a Portland Utah game where Tinsley even beat Felton.

If Felton dropped about 20 to 30 pounds and keep it off he could be a top 15 pg in the league.
