Following potential 2013 draftees

Haha. I do remember that. Where's that clown gone anyway? This is also very reminiscent of a convo you and Gyp had about Cal and Izzo. Cal's playing golf and Izzo's playing in yet again another Sweet Sixteen.

Difference between me and you.. and Hal..
.
I always congratulate Bluenotes, Wes, and Cope on Michigan wins.
I know people are invested and I feel for them win their team plays.. now if it's against UK, everyone can die..
.
You and a few others (Cy, i.e.) don't have enough class to ever say anything respectful. And that's okay.

Back to your topic. I have always given mad props to Izzo for being a great coach. Makes me wonder, though.. what is the criteria for determining which coach is better? Is it recruiting? How many guys you put in the NBA? Wins and losses? Tourney production?? All of it is easily debatable. And I am not saying anything about whether Calipari is a great coach (I only speak about what an insanely good recruiter he is and how brilliantly he negotiates and out maneuvers his peers). He himself was once asked if he thinks he's a good coach and he said, "I don't know, I just recruit the very best and they make me look good.. I have no intention of ever finding out."
.
.
Having said that.. here are some side-by-side facts between Izzo (I never picked this fight, btw... it was all TtT and Wes) and Calipari. In fairness, I want to mention I went back the past 7 years (and not including this one.. but anyone is welcome to update the stats later).

In the past 7 years;

Izzo - 189 wins and 72 losses (72.4%)
Calipari - 237 wins and 29 losses (89%)

Number of NCAA tourney appearances;
Izzo - 7
Calipari - 7

Number of 2nd round games;
Izzo - 6
Calipari - 7

Number of sweet 16's;
Izzo - 4
Calipari - 7

Number of Elite 8's;
Izzo - 2
Calipari - 6

Number of F4's;
Izzo - 2
Calipari - 3

Number of championship games;
Izzo - 1
Calipari - 2

Number of National Titles;
Izzo - 0
Calipari - 1

I am wide open to any debate as to who is the better coach.. but if anyone wants to have an intelligent conversation .. please make it an intelligent one.

Clearly you must have missed where I said Cal was a great coach, and one of the best at what he does. I would say that's fairly respectable.

Of course, you, the most respectable of us all, have been calling me a prick and an "alt". Obviously you're the class guy here though.

I'm gonna rib on Kentucky because you like them a lot, it's just what people do. It's nothing personal against you, it's just all in fun. You can rip on my team all you want and it won't bug me.

Cody Zeller sucks. I wouldn't draft him in the top 20. I picked Indiana to win it all, but I am less confident after seeing more of Zeller.

Oh and in regards to your argument about Cal and Izzo, both are tremendous coaches. However you can't take just raw wins and losses into effect, one has to consider that Cal coached at Memphis, which was in a horrid conference, and that I'd wager Cal's team had a bit more talent than Izzo's teams did. Incredibly hard to say that one is better than the other, both are very good coaches and I would be happy with either one of them at my college.

He's massively over-rated. Should have gone into the draft last year when he had all the hype. Has some nice moves, but short arms, not all that athletic and he's soft. In this draft, he'd be a decent pick anywhere from 10-20, but somebody will take him too early. I think the kid from Gonzaga is a lot better than Zeller is.
