Following potential 2013 draftees

Uggghh

Yuk

So many people liking Olynyk. Jeff whithey is so much better. He probably won't be a star, but he is going to be good. He will be an excellent third big. He will make our defense a lot better. Olynyks defense is no where near Whitheys. Do we really want another big who doesn't play D? Good grief. Its like Jazz fans never learn their lessons.

What does Whithey bring to the table that Favors doesn't though? Can you play Whithey alongside Favors? Is Olynyk that bad at defense?

*I don't really want Olynyk though.

Reped. Agree completely. I'm sick of the all offense no defense teams we are used to seeing. Always drove me nuts watching close games late in the 4th and we can't stop anything. It was maddening at times.

How 'bout we get the big kiwi at 21 if he's there.

I am not an olynyk fan. don't like the motor. personally I would take dieng over both but I would bet dieng will play in okc next year. Adams has a lot more upside. Kansas centers always give me the hebejebes. Gobert all you here is 7-9 wing span. I always worry about players like that that are expected to play basketball because they are tall.

1. We need another big, unless you want to sign Al

2. Having two Favors would not be a bad thing. What if Favors goes down with an injury? I get you don't want to have all the same players, but we have Kanter who compliments Favors. So its either another defensive big, or a scoring big who doesn't play D. Just give me the defensive big please. Ill find points some other way. I'm so tired of watching weak bigs.

3. Whithey isn't incapable of scoring. 14ppg , 58% fg, 71% ft

4. 4 blocks a game compared to Olynyks 1. That's weak.

The league is trending towards spacing being extremely important. Can you really afford to play two guys who can't score outside of the paint, and who aren't even great scorers within the paint, at the same time?

Also, Whithey getting over-powered in the NBA is a concern.

plumlee is ready now but besides being athletic what else does he bring to the table? if zeller dropped he is the most well rounded of all of them. not in love with Len but if he is there would be very interesting. scouts say he has the best game of all of them.

if bazz is going to go around 10 I would trade burk and swap picks to move up and get him. in that range he is a steal. imagine him and Hayward playing on the wings.

Haha.

Wut

Olynyk weighs 3 more pounds than Whithey, and Whithey plays a lot tougher.

Again, picking Whithey isn't to start next to Favors. We have to bolster our big rotation. I dont want Sap or Al back. I don't think Whithey would kill your spacing either. He isn't a terrible shooter, and he can get better.

I would rather have bad spacing than lazy bigs anyways. We have seen already how that plays out.

I guess its just a difference in philosophy. I put defense up there pretty high. I don't care if I can space the floor really good if I can't defend the paint. It seems really pointless. Which is why I was never a fan of Memo being our starting center.

Whithey has motor questions.

He took 14 jumpers all year, he has no jumper.

He ranks dead last in offensive rebounding rate of all centers in Draft Express's database. Offensive rebounding is often a product of hustle and effort.

I would like to have Whithey. I like him, but there are players I'm more interested in at 21. I'm not really interested in any bigs in this draft after Austin left. There are a lot of good ones, but none I really see being a fit for Utah.

Do you think he is going to be that bad? I think he has potential to be a rotation player at the very least.

Well yeah, he has a shot of being a rotation player. He isn't going to be Corey Maggette though, which is what the question was. I just don't think he has a chance at being that efficient of a scorer.

Will people please stop suggesting trading Burks for lesser players? Not only that, but people want to throw in picks.???? Huh?

Newflash... Burks is good and has a chance to be really good.

The Jazz have just held him back.
