Following potential 2013 draftees

I think DAL GM will be clever enough not to make that known with comments like:

"We're exploring many options right now - if you're interested in trading picks, why not take on Marion's contract and we'll talk"

I think that's entirely a possible scenario.

If Utah and Dallas are discussing a swap of picks, it will be fairly obvious who the Jazz are targeting, or the Jazz would have no need to make such a trade. We can't just take Marion's contract and 'talk'. They'll offer us #13 and Marion for a TPE, if that's allowed. That would likely leave us with both #13 and #14.

Personally, I think Dallas should take Adams or Gobert. Quite frankly, we might want to take Adams or Gobert too.

Yeah Ok - but my point is there is no way DAL would let us know who THEY are targeting. They have no incentive to reveal their hand.

haha ok im glad you said the absolute wrong thing, this should really prove my point on why we should ship in a new token white guy (Zeller) and get max assets for this guy hayward who was outplayed(embarrassed) by a Second Round pick in last years Playoffs... 2nd round pick
what about a certain pimp from long island (like myself)

in game one hayward outplayed him but green took like 3 shoots

the rest of the series hayward was terrible and green had a monster game in game 3...

so ask youself when you look at hayward, am i being biased here... Danny Green will be better moving foward also(considering hes gonna get paid 5mil... you guys want to give hayward max)

No one has ever said that Hayward should get the max. YOu post one picture of Danny Green shooting over Hayward to "prove" your ridiculous claim that Hayward can't play defense. I certainly hope you are not an attorney. No one in the NBA can single-handily cover guys like Durrant, Kobe or James. However, Gordon has done an excellent job for the most part when he has been called upon to do so.

Seriously, dude you come into the board telling us how smart and knowledgeable you are about basketball and then you throw out crap like this and you wonder why some people start call you names. I know you have it in you to make a intelligent post because some of your post I agree with but you are starting to just throw crap out there that just makes you look silly. Hayward is a solid player and has progressed each year. He can play multiple positions and he plays hard most of the time. The Jazz are not going to just throw him in some package with a draft pick to move up in this draft. Just plain silly!!!!

Catchall, I have liked many of your post lately. I agree 100 percent that this is something the Jazz should consider. The more I think about it, I believe that the Jazz need a real center. Kanter and Favors can play both positions but both guys are more PFs than centers. I would be happy with either Adams or Gobert at 14.

I get it, but if they're offering us their pick for Marion, it means they aren't targeting anybody. If they offer to switch picks, it means they aren't worried about us taking who they want (i.e., they aren't targeting Schroeder), which means there are other players they like just as much.

I'm just reading a bit into the situation.

If the Jazz added Adams/Gobert (14) and Wolters (21) to their current core 4, that would set us up quite nicely. Then we take the best athletic SF in the 2nd round--Hill, Southerland, Jean-Charles, Adonis Thomas, Snaer, etc.--and we're good. Next year, we take BPA.

Gobert/Wolters/Southerland

Or, we take Schroeder (14), the best wing shooter like Karasev or Bullock (21), and pick up a back-up PF/C in the 2nd round, or maybe another PG like Bongo or Canaan.

Schroeder/Bullock/Jaiteh

Well my point is they're not going to pre-empt the situation by first offering us anything.

All they had to do was get a word out that they loved the Schroeder workout - and hope that it makes us worry enough to get on the phone and call them.

If we don't call them, then they simply take who they liked - the end - no harm done.

Speaking of Gobert, this looks pretty wicked....

I thought Gobert was a novice on offense. But in that video he shows finishing in traffic, finishing with either hand at the rim and from the post. Maybe I need to re-evaluate my assesment. He could be elite in a few years. Worth a chance at 14? Well I'm not ready to say that after a 1:49 video clip, but if the Jazz think so and draft him....I wouldn't boo one bit.

TBH, the Jazz should be calling every team about moving up in the draft. That means, the Mavs don't really have leverage on us because we might do a deal with Philly or Minny and blow right by them. We should be putting all kinds of options on the table.

We're in a strong position if we just stay put though.

I'm asking myself what it is that Valanciunas does better than Gobert. Free-throws I guess. Maybe Val is a bit smoother on the pick-and-roll.

Nice thing about Gobert....Favors slides over to play pf.

I'm not sure how Jazz could keep Gobert, Favors and Enes....seems like they are too similar, but they'd have 2-3 years to figure it out. Injuries, attitudes, abilities could change in that time.

Still I would like to see a stretch 4 to provide more spacing, but maybe with the 3rd installment of Corbins new offense the stretch 4 wouldn't be needed.

There is just so many options for the jazz. I like the mystery and suspense.

Screw it. Just stay put and take whomever is available between Gobert, Olynyk, Schroeder and your favorite wing.

Well that's certainly a strategy. Another strategy mentioned here earlier which I really like is trade #14 and #21 for OKC's #12 and #29.

Who says no?

It's likely they'll still be able to get either Gobert/Adams at #14 anyway, plus they get a better pick at #21.

We can get Schroeder at #12 and at least one of Bullock/Snell/Rice Jnr should still be around at #29. The talent between 25-35 is so flat there.

Me too. Hitchocks are my favorite. Dial M for Murder and Rope are at the top of my list.

What's yours?

I don't remember Hitchcock movies, but remember liking "Vertigo."

Watching the NBA Finals here, I really want skilled length and scorers: McCollum, Olynyk, Giannis

I think Giannis can eventually become like Chris Bosh with a shorter neck.
