Following potential 2013 draftees

From what I'm hearing from the UK camp, it sounds like the kid set to get major attention is Archie Goodwin. Not a need for the Jazz, but thought I'd share anyway.

Interesting. Any chance he can be molded into a PG?

EDIT: Also, it would be great for us if Goodwin went before Poythress in the draft.

Goodwin's always in high gear attack mode and is a vicious dunker, jumping over people and posterizing the rest.

Bradley barely averaged over 1 APG last season, despite playing 20 minutes per. Kabongo averaged over 5 as a freshman, and I expect him to average 6+ this season. Not seeing the comparison.

The Mind of PKM While Scouting To The NBA

1. Did he play for UK?
If the answer is yes see Outcome A), if no see Outcome B)

Outcome A) Hall of Fame
Outcome B) Scrub

Just for the record, everyone, that's total bs. We have 650+ pages to prove Cy wrong. I do share more on UK players, but not as a homer.

I haven't seen enough of Goodwin to have an opinion regarding his ability to play point. At this point, I'd say he's more like a Burks in that regard.
I don't think Archie will go ahead of Poythress, but maybe just a couple spots back.

PKM, I have been wondering about something. Is there a noticeable increase in players athletic abilities after they have a chance to work with NBA teams? Or is it all just to make fans feel like their players are getting better?

The reason that I ask is after watching Poythress and Goodwin it seems like they are already incredibly gifted athletically and if these programs like P3 really make a difference then those guys could be amazing. Just wondering.

PS, nice sig.

Depends on the program, honestly. UK has the best strength coach in the nation, a $20MM practice facility, a team-dedicated chef that makes sure they're eating properly .. so I'd say there's less difference than kids coming out of colleges without those benefits.

Having said that, these kids have school and other things in their lives that they don't have (as much) when they get drafted and can put more into their bodies.

So if I understand correctly you are saying that they can make a difference just because basketball will be (hopefully) the biggest priority in life.

Certainly.. in varying degrees based on how much access they had to proper nutrition, strength/conditioning, etc while in college.
