Following potential 2013 draftees

Only problem, NAOS, is that it's quite possible that neither turn into a legit starter. Maybe I just haven't quite grasped the gravity of building a team in Utah, but it still seems to me that we should be able to build 80% of our team through the draft (Kanter, Burks, Hayward), trades that have already been done (Favors), and make a major move to fix the last 20% through FA.

I realize it may very well be an overly romanticized notion, but taking a couple more very nice pieces in the draft, the ridding of some contracts, and going after Rondo as a near-max and contender would be my dream strat.

In what is a deep draft, I wonder if the Celts, if they continue to struggle, would consider trading Rondo this off-season in a S&T for Mo, Millsap and our two 1sts, or something like that. Though none of this really gets me excited because we still have Ty as our HC.

Rondo would take over as coach. I'm not kidding.

As Kenny Anderson says, "Rondo's playing chess while everybody else is playing checkers."

I could see there being some interest in Mo with Bradley getting healthy. Millsap is incredible redundant for them with Bass and Sullinger already there. I think they might have more interest in Jefferson honestly. As long as Rondo is not there I could see it working with Jefferson.

Good post.

Didn't think of Bass and Sully. True.

The Jazz might have to throw in multiple picks in that trade and possible multiple firsts. Just as long as they are unprotected 5 years from now though.

I just had a look at the UFA PGs for this offseason. Wow, I forgot how grim. Grim. We are overpaying and/or wagering a lot if we bank on the RFAs.

Yea, I was thinking the same thing. Of course CP3 will be a free agent but that is Bigger longshot the the Jazz trading for Rondo.

Yeah, I see CP3 sticking with the Clips. Which may loosen up Bledsoe, but he's not the top shelf we're dreaming about.

Teague's a RFA. He'd be option #1 for me. And I'd consider offering him a lot, like maybe even max money. Option #2 would be Bledsoe but I would not offer more than about 6M.
