Following potential 2013 draftees

I've been waiting to say this.

Poythress played like a man today.

He shot the ball, owned the paint .. and took it to LSU. 20/12. He deserves major props for how he played today. Now see if it sparks his inner bb beast.

Noel with his 5th straight game with at least 6 blocks.

Btw, Poythress' 20 points came on 9 attempts.

Sorry pkm I don't want another player that is to passive at times. That has turned me off to poythress. That is also what I loved about MKG.

Ps would love if we could hook up with him when Charlotte comes to Utah. Let us buy him lunch or something let him meet jake.

I'll text him and see if he can make time to swing by.

RE: Poythress

Excerpt from a premium article:

"I'm very happy for him, because I know what Coach Cal has put him through," said freshman Archie Goodwin, who had 15 points and five rebounds Saturday. "It's like sometimes you feel sorry for things that he has to do in practice because, I mean, we all work hard and we know that he wants it just as much as we do."

Goodwin said Calipari's harder on Poythress than anyone else on the team and that it's "not close." Poythress paused when asked if Calipari was right to describe it as "torture."

"Do I feel that way?" he said. "Maybe a little bit, but it's all good. It's all making me better, so I embrace it."

Against LSU, it paid off.

"I'm telling you, without him, we don't win," Calipari said.

And that was reason for Poythress to smile.

^ I'm seeing a one inch shorter Terrence Jones in my limited viewing. Not a terrible thing but hard to get excited about. His .5 assists and 2.6 turnovers are rather alarming.

Alex is a better shot, has better handles, and is a far better athlete. Everyone that gets paid to know these things, knows these things .. question is only his inner desire.

Archie Goodwin is a player that really intrigues me. At 6-4, 198 lbs that is decent size for a shooting guard and is leading Kentucky in scoring with 14.6 PPG to go along with 5.0 RPG, 3.3 APG, and 1.2 SPG. Goodwin is projected to go right in the mid first-round which is right where the Jazz are at right now at #17, plus the Warriors pick at #24.

Jazz do have a hole at shooting guard, Foye is a back-up shooting guard off the bench not a starter in my opinion. Burks doesn't get very much playing time and isn't being very productive and Hayward seems more fit at the three opposed to the two. Goodwin would be a great addition for the Jazz at shooting guard, he is projected to go right around where the Jazz will pick.

Alex Poythress has been struggling lately, but he did have a breakout game against LSU the other night. The problem is he is projected to go in the 10-12 range and unless the Jazz move up a little from #17, Poythress is not going to be there. Jazz could trade #17 and their second-round pick or future second-rounds pick(s) into the lottery, they have to make sure they want Poythress first though.

Hmmmm, interesting..

I'll give him a look. Thanks, bro!

Not many people are going to agree with you Hayward is batter at the 3, he can play it but gets abused there by the bigger SFs. Looking forward, PG and SF are the teams main trouble spots (fu Marvin for letting us all down).

PKM,

Bennett could play the 3 at the next level? How's his ability to defend NBA 3's and his ability to create his own shot/penetrate/attack the rim?

Mediocre, imo. Poythress would be putting up Bennett numbers if Calipari let him play for PF, but knows he needs to hone is SF skills.

I like Bennett, a lot .. a whole lot, but he's a tweener, for sure.

Ugh...I ****ing hate tweeners, unless they have all-world skills like Royce White.

Haha ..

Actually, I don't mind tweeners, as long as they have superior skills to take advantage of the 50/50 matchup .. and they are all-motor-all-the-time guys.
