Right now where the point guards are projected, I don't think we will have a chance at Smart or MCW unless the Jazz or Warriors slip into the lottery. Trey Burke and C.J. McCollum could both potentially be there if the Jazz have a pick at #15, #16, #17, or #18 in that scenario Jazz take whichever player is BPA. If only one of the two is there and he is BPA the Jazz need to take him, if somehow the Jazz don't take a point guard with their first pick merely because he wasn't BPA or they were gone they definitely need to take one with the later of the two picks. Presumably Myck Kabongo.
Jazz need to get one of the following in the draft for me to be happy: Marcus Smart, Michael Carter-Williams, C.J. McCollum, Trey Burke, or Myck Kabongo
Myck Kabongo is the player I would like to see the Jazz pick, preferably at #24 but it all depends how well he does in the final eight games on the season for Texas, his stock might rise into the early-twenties or late-teens which then the Jazz could pick him at #17. Kabongo will return to Texas on February 13th against Iowa State and after that they have seven more games.
Myck Kabongo with the GSW pick around #24 seems like the best value pick for the Jazz at point guard.
Myck Kabongo tonight in a 79-70 win vs. Baylor
19 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, 3 steals,
6-10 from the field, 2-4 from the three
Myck Kabongo is projected to go #18 to the Jazz on nbadraft.net's 2013 Mock Draft that was updated yesterday. Kabongo would have definitely been a lottery pick if he declared for the draft last year. A deep run in the NIT might improve his draft tstock a little, but right now he is in the 20-25 range in my opinion.
I have been one of the biggest supporters of 'Bongo' on here.
