Following potential 2013 draftees

I kind of like his take. He has made a passionate declaration for a player based on his own research, even if it turns out to be dead wrong it was enjoyable to read.

Edit: Watched that highlight video. Loved the kids ability to get into the lane, his running floater, and his cross-over.

Didn't like how he jumps towards the basket (and thus into defenders) on his jumpshots, did I also see him drifting to the side on his jumper? Too much lower body movement--could be difficult to shoot for a high %.

Still want to see him: Pass, is there a highlight real of him passing the ball? Can he shoot off the dribble from range? Did they run any P&R?

oh, i didnt say hes gonna be there at 14... thats absurd.

trade the picks and other assets for him, get this kid nomatter the cost, trade up high so no one steals him

Hey dude. Nice to have you back. I was asking about your other incarnations just the other day.

Schroeder ftw

and your naysaying is based on?? past history of lowprofile prospects?

what do you see from young dennis? the next yinka dare?

i can only judge him from what ive seen and read, and the conclusion ive drawn from that info is that this kid is gonna be good, better than brandon jennings, once i was comfortable with that i had no problem giving him 95 grade, he might need some time to adjust but this kid is a matchup nightmare hes like shumpert/averybradley but quicker and a 1/2 like deron was a 1/2, meaning will play 1 but doesnt need to back down to 2's

also i prefer his attitude issues over jennings, he plays defense with alot of fire, i LOVE watching this kid play d, i just started reading the other threads and people mentioned his hands being small, this kid has quiiiick hands!!!! and i have yet to hear of a 6'1" dude with a 6'8" wingspan with small hands... i dunno if thats even true or possible.
his athleticism is rondo esque, imo. his skillset is what i really like, ithink it compares favorably to jennings tbh, i like him better than burks whom ive defended ad naseum, and honestly i think he might develop into a better westbrook, that drills 3's instead of 17 footers

Wow.. I usually really enjoy your posts, but damn.. that's some major stuff there.

I don't get the Schroeder hype at all. It'll take more than a good hesitation dribble to be an effective NBA player. His shot looks like absolute garbage, and he's not particularly explosive (not even against ****ty German stiffs). If there were more people raving about his feel for the game, I might understand the hype. What am I missing?

What exactly about his shot looks like absolute garbage? Even if not explosive, he will draw in a defense and likely contact, and hitting open shots should do well enough to keep a defense tight on him. I think he has impressive passing vision even if he gets a little ahead of himself sometimes. He's young and most of his perceived flaws are correctable (we'll see about leaping ability/finishing). He's shown mesmerizing ability on defense. The Jazz desperately need a ballhandler that can put pressure on an opposing defense and this draft abjectly lacks prospects that can do that (especially in the Jazz's range), so some of this definitely stems from need.

In short, I think he's covered the extreme ends of a skill-set and has the talent and youth to work and cover the gaps.

People are excited about his physical attributes, ability to get by his man, adequate spot-up shooting, and tight on-the-ball defense. He's young, and does look like a starting-caliber pg prospect to me, although I could see it taking a couple years. He's not a guy that gets all the way to the rim at this stage.

Good to see PointGod_AlecBurks back on the forum.

Also good to see I'm on his side re Schroeder. Wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of that man.

BTW if he's able to work out for teams, I see him going top #10 if not higher. Again, depending on whether his attitude checks out and whether his shot is legit.

Would Lindsey be brave enough to trade up & get him?
