Following potential 2013 draftees

This is my draft based on talent, upside, physical upside etc:

1. Len
2. Mclemore
3. Steven Adams
4. Olidipo
5. Bennett
6. MCW
7. Zeller
8. Schroeder
9. Noel
10. Burke
11. McCollum
12. Snell
13. Bullock
14. Nogeira

Again my mock is based upon where I think we will look back in 5 years and say the talent played out. Remember Paul Millsap is 3rd in his draft in 06' with only Aldridge/Rondo being ahead of him. I think Adams will become a very good defensive center, and a very adequate offensive threat kind of like a Noah in Chicago. Bennet has asthma problems, Oladipo has huge upside but may not be an offensive stud. And Otto Porter is the guy who I just can't get my hands around... I fear he is the next Wesley Johnson.

Only made one change and then it looks perfect.

I'm sorry for saying it .. but this article is saying the same thing I've been telling so many on here for a year now (looking at you more than anyone, Numb).
No, the article doesn't make it true.. but it kills me that some people take one little clip, or one little negative article and put so much stock into it.
I've watched the kid play (live) for years.. and I know what he is. This whole 'attitude problem' thing was completely unfair.

I may be guilty of over-compensating, but my mock I put in here a couple weeks ago had him at 3.. just to show my faith the naysayers are wrong. (And I'm talking about a kid that chose UCLA over Kentucky, lol)

I don't know the kid, never met him and haven't seen too many of his games. However, it was more than one clip. He had two incidents where he looked upset that his teammate won the game and other when showed bad body language to his teammate for not passing him the ball. I know this doesn't make a huge red flag for me but I wouldn't just ignore it either. Throw in his crazy-*** father and you might be concerned with the kid being negativity influenced by his father.

Again my main concern is his lack of stats like rebounding, assists, steals and his size. He isn't overly long and when I saw him at the combine he looked out of shape (winded 9 percent body fat). When a kid has been groomed for being the next big thing, how is he going to adapt to being just another teammate? Does he make his teammates better? Does he care more about winning than personal stats? If the kid is the BPA available then I hope the Jazz take him and if he produces then all my concerns will go away. I don't know why I am not that excited about him. I still doubt Bazz will be there at 14.

PKM, I agree that one has to be care when listen to attitude rumors. I remember some NBA analyst saying Karl Malone was lazy and that was a reason why he dropped to the Jazz. Bazz hasn't been arrested as far as I know and there were not any reports coming out of UCLA that he was a problem so I've decided to give the kid the benefit of the doubt.

Very interesting list. Daring and I like it. Bullock and Snell are too high.. but a dang interesting mock. Kudos.

The knock on Shabazz isn't the off-court stuff, it's that he didn't dominate physically at the college level and that he didn't live up to the hype that might have been fueled a bit by being older and more developed than other HS kids. He also didn't shoot all that well and had one of the lowest assist rates in the NCAAs. He's also not super quick or defensive minded for a 6'6" guy who is supposed to play SF at the next level and maybe too slow to guard NBA SGs who are the same size/length, but quicker.

If all this is true, that makes him more of a role player than an impact player. If he can develop the range and consistency on his jumper, then he can play off that and be like a Joe Johnson with more drive. He still has to prove he can do that though. There's a bit of risk there that he might turn out to be more like Magette, and that's why he'll probably go mid-late lottery.

That's EXACTLY what I said at the beginning of the year.

I don't want to go through all these posts but whats the census on Rudy Gobert? Jazz have worked him out and he could be a great 3rd big. The NBA is still a big man's game and he definitely clogs up the middle. Could maybe turn into a poor man Hibbert.

I think he would be great selection at #21. Maybe you stash him in Europe for a few years.

Big, well coordinated, decent hands, 7'9" wing-span. Able to catch and finish. Good timing on defense. Slower than ideal footspeed may be holding him back.

I agree he would be great at #21 but I highly doubt he gets to 21. I would be shocked if Atlanta didn't take him with one of their two consecutive picks. Gobert has stated he wants to come to the NBA next year so I don't know how a team can keep him from coming over. Man if the Jazz could get Bazz and Gobert in this draft it would be a great draft in my opinion.

He's a Ferrari without wheels.
