Following potential 2014 draftees

I'll take it.

Randle or Parker
TJ Warren / LaQuinton Ross / Aaron Harrison

Yes and no... I mean you take Parker for sure. But Randle?????????

We've got Favors & Kanter already. Who do you let go? Let go of Favors and you lose defensive presence inside. Let go of Kanter, uhh... not gonna happen.

Can Kanter & Randle defend enough to be a Championship team?

I'd rather take my chances with Andrew Harrison... a much better fit for our team. Then grab Aaron with the #20....

Andrew Harr.
Aaron Harr.
Hayward
Kanter
Favors

Much better balance. Long term 'grow together' potential. 3 UK alumni meaning hopefully they'll stick together. I can see that as a Conference contender in '16-'17.

It's so early to be talking about this. We don't know how Randle or Harrison will do. We don't even know how Favors and Kanter will do for that matter. Like PKM is always saying, this season is about evaluation. If Favors, Kanter, and Randle ALL look like they're going to live up to expectations, and he's BPA when we're on the clock, then okay...that would be an interesting situation.

I know it's too early, but basing off of my projections of each player, I'm not convince we can win a Chip with Kanter defending the paint. He just not that kind of player.

Unless Gobert really blows up defensively this year and you pair Gobert with Kanter in the starting lineup, and bring Randle off the bench. Or you start Gobert with Randle, Kanter off the bench.

In either situations you're bringing the 3rd lottery pick off the bench which to me is a waste of a pick... I'd rather have them all out there playing.

At that spot you go BPA. Period. Not debatable. Things are subject to change, of course, but most scouts believe Wiggins, Randle, and Parker are CLEARLY the top 3.

Another interview that makes me a little worried about Parker staying in school. He seems a little put off by the whole "one-and-done" thing. (starts at 1:26)

Not shocking that there's some holier than thou sprinkled throughout.

;)

Reminds me of the 2005 NBA draft... Bogut was the clear No. 1 (and the conventional wisdom would say - if in doubt - go BIG).

Doesn't mean Dwill/CP3 doesn't have just as much potential though...

I said go BPA.. if in doubt, I'll trust the franchise to either go big or go need. I am talking about if there's a clear BPA.

True.. but what I'm saying is even if Randle had a stunner of a season at UK and Andrew had an above average season, it's still hard to say who is BPA in say 5 years' time.

Randle could just be abusing "Kids" in college, while Andrew's skills set could be solid enough to thrive in the NBA (in the Westbrook/Harden trajectory of starting off slowly then shoots off).

All I'm saying is BPA isn't based on college stats alone, it's who that player will be at his peak.

The sky is blue.

One thing I think the Jazz will have to think about is potentially trading one of our 1st round picks next year to the Bulls for the rights of Mirotic. I believe we would have to pay him extra because it has been 3 years since he was drafted, but he would have been top 3 I think if he were in this year's draft.

Would be hard to get him. They fancy Mirotic to replace Boozer, who is already their weakest link, in a couple years. He will also be 100% NBA ready when he comes over so fits in perfect with their contending window.
