Following potential 2014 draftees

Number of plays I saw Kansas run that were designed to get Wiggins looks: 0

Regardless of the number plays designed to get him open looks, the fact remains, he did have some open looks and simply didn't knock them down.

Having said that, I like Wiggins. If we didn't know anything about the hype and just based our evaluations on what we're seeing in games and on their production and in game results, I'd look at Wiggins and say he's a good prospect because of his length, athleticism, a nice looking jumpshot and a solid all-around game for a freshman. A good prospect, not a #1 overall. Having seen Kansas 6 or 7 times this season, again if I wasn't biased by the hype, I'd have to say Embiid is the better prospect. Also, in the games that I've seen, while Wiggins has shown to be a good run/jump athlete, he hasn't done anything to make me think he's a special athlete. I'll defer to those who watched him or his highlights in HS, but based on what I've seen at Kansas, he looks like a very good athlete with excellent length, but nothing special in terms of sheer run/jump athleticism.

There was a poster on here who said Randle "kind of sucks". Rather than say who it was and embarrass him even further (he embarrassed himself enough just making that comment), I will just say he does not kind of suck. Randle is a beast. Great footwork, excellent athleticism, can put it on the floor, has an excellent spin move, is a good passer, relentless attacking the basket, excellent rebounder, great hands, his on-court demeanor is second to none, phenomenal motor, - all that and he produces results on the court. 29 points on 10 shots today. Hot damn. So impressive.

I'm liking Aaron Harrison more every time I see him. Has a pretty and effortless jumpshot and better than I expected in terms of his natural scoring ability.

WCS is interesting because he has above average athleticism and looks to be a legit 7'. Has some skill. James Young is a one-dimensional inefficient gunner - it's scary how much he reminds me of CJ Miles all the way to being left-handed. He's young and can improve, but right now I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole. I'm not sure what to think of Andrew Harrison.

Let's say Kanter starts playing well again and GS gets us the 14th pick. How far up could we move up in the draft by trading Kanter/GS pick? Is 5th unrealistic? Cause Aaron Gordon is ranked #7 right now by most it seems, and I'd take Kanter over him.

Might be a little unrealistic. Kanter has lost his starting job to Marvin Williams in a development year says a lot. He one of the worse on/offs in the league. He is going into RFA next season as well so a team risks getting outbid on him.

I agree if we're talking about doing this trade right now, but I'm talking about a hypothetical situation in which Kanter goes back to being the guy we all thought we would have to give a max contract to. Like, say Kanter puts up 16/9 on 53% shooting for the second half of the season.

First off Joel Embiid will be the #1 pick and it will be a no brainer runnaway. He is Hakeem!

Tier 2- Perrenial All Stars
Parker/Wiggins
Tier 3- Multi Year All Stars
Randle
Tier 4- Potential All Stars
Smart
Exum
possible up to 6-7 other All Stars in this draft:
Lavine, Cauley Stein as a defensive star, Vonleigh, Harrison twins, Young, Hood, Saric and other potential suitors who might emerge late like Lavine has of late.

Wiggins didn't have a very good offensive game and he plays on a very deep team. I have seen improvement though. He wasn't standing around as much and he does other things besides scoring. His defense was very good and he made some nice passes. He plays within the team concept too. However I don't see the great athleticism people talk about. He needs to get strong because he gets knocked around when taking it to the basket. I still think he will be a star in the league if he wants to be.

Embiid is definitely a top 3 pick. Kid just has it. He needs to get a little strong too which he will but he is more than a shot blocker.

I wonder why some Jazzfanz got in touch nuclear waste. Maybe it's a promo stunt by Energy Solutions?
But it's amusing to read. Keep it going. If there's a place for ridiculous statements it's definately this thread.

Apparently a place for blanket statements as well.

Randle has to be a PF, IMO. It's his relentless, attacking, low post game that gets him buckets and to the FT line often, with his back to the basket and his rebounding that makes him special.

What happened to quoting?

You could be right? Im still deciding on Embiid.

He usually scores with his face-up game.

Actually that's not true. He's constantly catching the ball in the post with his back to the basket. Sure he'll take it and face up, he'll spine to the hoop, etc, but much of his offense is initiated with his back to the basket. You want him in the post - that is where he is most effective.
