What's new

Following potential 2014 draftees

He is not a 3 and never will be. Good thing is he is superyoung for being freshman so his body will fill out and will be an excellent 4 in the legue. Great at blocking shots. Also Gordon name don't belong with Aminu. That's just clueless

I'm okay with Vonleh and think we might be able to make him an SF like Rashard Lewis early in his career.

So we'd be....

Burke / Garret
Hayward / Burks
Vonleh / Marvin or whatnot
Kanter / Marvin or Evans
Favors / Gobert

We could also bring Kanter off the bench.

My big board looks like this though:

1 Embiid - he's the guy you build around
2 Wiggins - need to see more dribble/drive moves and a first step
3 Parker - guy's just a shooter/scorer from all angles
4 Exum - defense breaker with a will to pass
5 Vonleh - size, defense, rebounding and inside/outside scoring - more perimeter game than Randle right now
6 Randle - still explosive, but needs more mid-range game to set up his drives
7 Smart - I like him as a pro, just think he's redundant with Burke; Smart has to be on the ball
8 Gordon - athletic wing defender and run-out guy, okay, but he could slip more than this if he's just an Aminu redux

Where are the idiots that said Wiggins was nothing special?

Yeah, that's right they are in hiding.

i still have my doubts. first i always thought he was a great athlete, but not a transcendent athlete. he is no bron. not even close in terms of pure natural athleticism. i laugh at those who think he is remotely close. and he really was over hyped because he is no consensus #1. he is no 2nd coming. he is no doubt top 3 in this particular draft. i don't see him fall below 3.

but like i said if brow was in this draft, brow would be consensus #1 pick. i would've picked brow over wiggins in a heartbeat. not even think twice about it.

i see that his offense is improving, but i still have to see it more. i need that controlled aggression more and often. i need to see that 'i want to be the best' drive. we are talking about #1 pick here. parker is a safer pick. embiid is a better potential pick. if you wanna be #1 pick, then show me. show me more of that 'holy *****' game and take over in march. then i'll believe. potential to be great is there for sure.

The best freshman against top-25 teams

Interesting to see that Kansas played the top-25 teams eight times already. Pretty tough schedule imo but they are doing great against those teams. Kenucky and Duke on the other hand just played four games against top-25 teams and their records aren't that great.

I really like the fact that Wiggins is playing well against other good teams. Great to see! Jabari has more points but Andrew is way more efficient(FG%, 3P% and FT%). He is also rebounding better. Andrew is rebounding better than Randle too(thats a little bit of a surprise). But it is really disturbing that Embiid has the highest AST number.

The canadian kid is my guy. I want Andrew!

Joe alexander is about the only one that i thought would be really good.... well besides roy and bynum anyway

Marcus Smart is struggling in a serious way the last few games. That jumper still needs work. Still my guy, just hope he turns it around in the second half of conference play.

I dont totally hate smart.... but for this jazz team with burke, burks, and hayward, i dont want him at all.

I want a small forward or a stretch 4 or a backup power forward

This Kentucky team is trolling so hard...jeopardizing leads all the time. How much do you age average in an UK game PKM?

I just can't help but think Markel Brown would be a huge steal in the second round. For as much as I like Zach LaVine, with him it's all potential, not much production at this point in his young career. In Brown, you have a finished product who reminds me a ton of Burks out of Colorado. Perhaps even more athletic, probably a better pure shooter without the all-around talent or ability to draw fouls like Burks.

I am not a big fan of smart. I don't hate him but if the Jazz are picking around 6-8. I'd rather take a little bit of a flier on James Young or one of the Harrison twins. I know this is high for these guys but I think they have more potential than Smart. Besides I would probable move down if possible after the top 5 guys are gone.
