Following potential 2014 draftees

I love Randle. Love his intensity and his drive. My only concern if we picked him up is the spacing on the floor. It's already congested with Fav and Kanter. Unless you bring Kanter off the bench and start Randle at the 4. Does the 3 of them on the floor at the same time concern anyone else?

If Randle is drafted, then Kanter or Favors should get traded...and I would assume it would be Kanter, as a frontcourt with Randle and Kanter would be absolutely terrible on defense.

Trading Kanter/Favors should result in a good wing player, so if they feel that Randle is a better option than one of those two, then they should do that.

This is sounding a bit too much like the Darius Miller conversation for my comfort.
Yep
I just have a really hard time believing that a perennial backup in college who has all the talent to be great, but lacks the mental fortitude to do so, will all of a sudden become a solid player in the NBA.

Poythress is talented for sure, but I don't think he'll ever put it together. If he couldn't get motivated to start this year, then he won't amount to much in the NBA, IMO.

100% agree.

If the Jazz get Randle, then I think we're pretty comparable to the Memphis Grizzlies talentwise, although I think our guards have more upside.

That vid Nikkk posted reminds me that I actually still like Poythress as a value pick in the 20s. He's somewhere on my list for the GSW pick. I think he has a better shot of playing SF than Randle right now, as a Marvin Williams type.

Poythress lacks "Hunger" that Randle possess.

And you can't teach that. #RichKid #Welltodo #EasyLife #Passive

I can see Randle as trying to be a poor man's Lebron, but he's got a ways to go with his handle, passing and shooting. Plus he doesn't often get above the rim on drives.

Yeah, but remember what LeBron was like when he was 19? Randle has like 10 years to become LeBron Lite, and I do believe he has the tools to get there.

Posted this video last year, think it's still relevant now.

Marcus Lee is a guy that I really respect. He is a great player and is very honest. Have a listen to Marcus Lee at 0.47min when he said point blank of Randle "He's a really great player, I honestly think he may be the next LeBron James".

Who am I to argue.

LeBron is a top 3 athlete in the history of basketball. Randle isn't the most explosive guy, nor is he quick off the ground.

They're nowhere near comparable athletes. So no, Randle does not have the tools to become "Lebron Lite". Whatever that means.
