Following potential 2014 draftees

Yeah thought so too.. i'm sticking with UNC then..

My opinion is its down to UK and FSU.

If I were to completely ignore my sources (which these have yet to ever be wrong), I'd admit my hunch is FSU.
The fact that leaks have been nearly non-existent, the manner of his announcement (ultra quiet.. small group, no tv, and one reporter only) smells like FSU to me. Meaning, looks like a branding persona of a quiet kid that doesn't seek the camera, shuns the traditional powers for his parent's alma mater.. and quietly does work.. I 'feel' that vibe happening.

But I'm sticking by the intel....

Just heard Wiggins has stated he will not be taking summer school at the school of his choice. That is more smoke for FSU.. Cal requires the kids to come in so they can gel as a team and get a head start on their academics. I will be almost disappointed if Cal made an exception.. even for a once in a decade player.

Wow.. that would be amazing if true...

I know his parents went there, and were legends there or what have you. But to subject your own child to that is just selfish at best and childish at worst.

I mean what's the point? Andrew will have absolutely no chance at winning there whatsoever. He'll end up having to carry the team on his back most nights, and that can't be good for his still developing body. I mean, who's to say he won't get an injury playing that way (touch wood)?

Ok fine - Andrew wants to be the man - I get that - at least send him to a place where he'll get proper training, decent teammates, giving him at least a chance to shine. The risk of injury/burnout is just too great IMO. And all for what? Just to stroke the parents' egos?

Wow... I'd be beyond speechless if true.

Ummmm.....

*and*

Bright side.

Pretty funny. I just asked my guy about this and he laughed. Said it's a shot at FSU, not UK (making my instincts wrong). He said FSU is doing a foreign trip this year (college teams can do it once every 4 years and this coming is the Seminoles year) and in order to go each player MUST be enrolled in summer school. My guy said this is one of the subtle ways Andrew is letting them down softly... lol, I have no damn idea..

Well you could be right, it could be a shot to both UK and FSU, making my UNC pick the most likely.

Haha.. I'm pretty firm in UK or FSU..... even though I have had very credible people say he's going to UNC and being branded the new MJ. I just don't buy it.

this thread looks like fun, let me start with something that may have shock value

how about derrick favors for Alex Len and a pick in 2014, would you do that? could kanter easily play 4 next to a big 7'2 euro center? i think yes, kanter has good feet.

would we have a pale front line with gordon at the 3? would that work? do we have the proper guys to throw these skilled bigs inbounds-passes? burks is legit im sure of that, we need a PG (see 2013 thread, Schroeder)

The problem I have with trading for a '14 pick is similar to the GSW situation this year, they got a decent player in Barnes in the draft, brought in a couple of decent vets, and they're making a run in the playoffs.

Imagine a team picking up Favors and playing him big minutes. That team won't be in the deep lottery that's for sure.

well if this trade makes the jazz worse next year, isnt next years draft kinda worth not being competitive over.. thats what im kinda getting at with the Len/Favors swap, also wed have 2 picks in this scenario.

also id like to think they would actually start Len at 5, rookie season next to a slightly older Kanter, in this scenario wed actually somehow someway get younger, and be in position to get younger in next years draft. the utah jazz might be like the next benjamin button

well you can get worse AND keeping Favors. That's no problem. GSW got worse & picked up Barnes - they didn't have to trade away anyone.

Not much spacing, imo.. and also fairly slow??

Here is Locke's take on Wiggins:

If my son was Andrew Wiggins I would tell him hire an agent and a trainer and train all year for NBA. No way I risk $ by playng in NCAA
