Following potential 2014 draftees

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Jazz tried to trade one of the existing 5 young guys plus picks to move up even a few spots in this draft. This really is our chance to acquire a franchise, first-option player.

gonna trade Burks and Rush at the deadline for another pick, then package them all for the Mormon Hammer Jabari Parker

Sexy HOTTT

No doubt

FYI Aussies HS finishes in november

Yep... that's the deal.
Exum told Calipari that he's going to finish out HS then come to the states, make some visits to college campuses and evaluate whether he joins a team mid-season, waits until next year to enrol for a full year, or just enter the next draft.
He has said publicly that he wants the middle option... Cal thinks it'll be the last.

I really don't think he has much to gain from doing the college thing.. he's already elite for his age and if there's no restriction, why risk an injury???

I see no reason either. The only thing I could think of is if he gets solid advice that his current 'true' draft stock is less than the mocks are guessing.

He could deduce that going to college for a year could increase his marketability/value and take it to a much weaker 2015 draft.

That's a stretch but all I've got..

Marketability is a stretch as only guys like LeBron can score major endorsement deals when entering the league. The off court money will come once he got this ROY, MIP trophys. Plus I think he's very comfortable with a Lillard-esque pick. Mid Lottery winning Rookie of the year or coming close. Making other fanbases hate their FO for letting Exum drop. He also doesn't seem like he has to get educated. He'll work hard to achieve his goals, getts an extra year of prime which for him might be worth sth like 15M, which no difference in gained spots can make up for. Plus with his money he's able to afford the best trainer for offseason to work on his game. I'd be surprised if he chose college. He toyed with the U19 crowd on a very avg team. So a lot of focus on eliminating him. What's his benefit to play vs college teams that have like between 1 and 3 legit pro players?

Good post and I agree.. just playing devil's advocate to what I feel fairly certain will be the end result.

You're just hoping he joins UK, so the drop off from 13/14 to 14/15 isn't too big for you to bear as a fan!

Another thing about the 2015 draft crossed my mind: I really wouldn't wanna be in the top 3 there if I could go top 7 in next year. There's close to 10 teams tanking openly or stealth. So who's going to be in the 2015 lottery? The teams who made the wrong decision on their draftpick in 2014(similar to MKG, T-Rob in 2k12), the teams being forced to tank/rebuild after missing out on 2014 free agents and the teams whose draftpick in 2014 was too raw or not surrounded by enough talent. So there's a better chance in 2015 to end on a very bad team, which has history of being bad than in 2014. And by history I mean greedy owner or GMs/coaching staff that deserves to be replaced.

This Chris Walker character is also pretty exciting. This is a guy that looks comparable to Tracy McGrady, imo. He's RSCI #7 in this year's freshman class. I think we'll be able to get a Top 7 RSCI player with our own pick, and without making a move.

^Walker is stupid talented...... and stupid.

He got tats of lips all over his neck... he's about to be declared ineligible academically...... but he is very good.
