Following potential 2014 draftees

Fwiw.. I thought Jazz4ever made a couple of very good posts there.
Yes, they were solid. I agree it would be tough to draft another PG in 2014. Jabari would be such a great fit, allowing Hayward to move to the 2 and for Burks to come off the bench. But we're placing a lot of hope on something that has about a 1 in 4 chance of happening. If we don't get Parker or Wiggins, I see a great 3-man guard rotation with Harrison, Burke and Burks. SF's should be the easiest players to obtain. There are always a ton of them available during FA. It's true there are also PG's available, but not really good ones. And certainly not PG's who are 6'5." Same thing with Randle. We'd have an unbelievable rotation at the 4/5. And an even better team if Randle could also play a big-3.

This argument is totally invalid. There's been NO good argument on this site, why the Jazz would end up with a 5-8 pick. The best "arguments" included Favors or Kanter playing on an allstar like levels...But yeah, that's a big load to predict a breakoutseason individually that translates into team success.
I for myself have repeatedly have written arguments why they'll land in the 2-5 range. I've NEVER assumed this actually happens, but my prognosis at least contained arguments. It's not 1 regular season game played. You can assume odds when regular season nears the end. But not now. Just take a step back, look at the bigger picture and talk about the players, the Jazz range is a topic that becomes relevant later.
That's not like I don't like when someone posts sth like: I had a dream to get a signature of Wiggins in a Jazz jersey.
But I really hate it when people start making points based on their gut, or if it isn't their gut fail to outline their train of thought...

Alright I'll play...

Teams I think will be worse than the Jazz:

- Magic
- Suns
- Sixers
- Bobcats
- Kings
- Bucks

So to me that puts Jazz at the 7th position, which is well within the 5-8 range you were referring to.

Bobcats - no way they turn it around that quickly.

Kings - doubt McLemore would change their situation much

Bucks - they're stuck with Jennings, enough said.

1st off it has less to do with their turn around than the Utah's fall
I think Utah will struggle worse than most people on this forum do

Bobcats-weren't horrible on the outside added zeller and al big difference

Kings- pretty fair matchup to utah this year

Bucks- Will stand pat

Why is no one discussing the Mavs??

I doubt the Mavs make the playoffs, but they'll be a bit better than last year.

I think the Jazz are trying to put themselves in position to throw the kitchen sink at a team that could get us in the top 4. I think the Jazz would give up one of our young players, plus our pick (say 6 - 9 range), plus two second round picks in order to get Parker or Randle.

Do you really think we can trade up to grab a top 4 pick?

We have two guys that I see as starting fours. I think jazz are stronger in the long run Parker or Wiggins/Kanter than Favors/Kantor
