When he said he wants to play the 3 and i saw his peremter skills or lack of i soured on him..His best bet is to try to be a poor mans Marion/Griffin type and run the floor like a madman and use his motor..he cant shoot or dribble effectively enough to scare anyone at the 3

Actually, if Randle can DOMINATE at the SF position, he'll probably end up being the best fit for us.

- Are there any rebounds we can't grab?

- Both Kanter & Randle WILL draw double teams. They will both get to the line "early and often". They will play off of each other. Both are accomplished offensive monsters (amongst their peers) with great mid range jumper, post game and face up game. Both have the potential to score 20+ pts on a given night.

- Hayward & Burke probably will never have to shoot a contested 3pter ever again.

Playing Gordon at SF would probably net you results similar to Derrick Williams. He is a little more athletic than Williams and has a better motor but can't see him being another Blake.

This is a totally innovative and a way of thinking I've never read before(especially from you). I'd really like how the holy spirit and Randle would be together. I miss the holy spirit.

I really like what I've seen from Gordon. His defense was good, he was always active off the ball. I think he'll be really good.

Randle would never play SF under Corbin. How many times did Ty play Millsap at SF, even after he tried it a couple of times 2 years ago and it was statistically one of the best trios? Even when we had SF's who were hurt or struggling?

But Randle doesn't HAVE to play SF. As much as we may like Jeremy, the person, he's not a regular rotation player. And neither is Biedrins. Nor is Gobert at this point. If Randle is BPA, you draft him and have Favors, Kanter and Randle all play around 30 mins at the 4/5, with the remaining time going to Gobert. Derrick still starts at PF, which should keep him happy. But Favors also gets almost half his time at the 5, which may be for the best anyway. And Randle would have the ability to slide over to the 3 in specific scenarios. Frankly though, I don't think Ty has the mentality to see those possibilities. I Just think the Jazz need a better basketball "mind" as a HC. One who can play match-ups, draw up "X's" and "O's," make adjustments as the game unfolds. Corbin, IMO, isn't that guy.

IF we ended up with Randle, he would play a heavy rotation minutes with Kanter and Favors.

Would be like 27 minutes for each of those guys and then 15 minutes shared by Evans and Gobert.

I just don't like the idea of paying heaps of money on Favors and Kanter (potentially), and spending our top draft pick in Randle and ONLY playing them 30 min per game.

To me that's not an economical way of spending the money/pick.

Kinda like marrying a trophy wife but not taking her out clubbing, socializing, to show her off to your friends and co-workers. It just seems like a big waste of talent (punn intended).

That was an average. Most starters get 34-36 mins. unless you're really riding them. The Lakers over-used Kobe and played him almost 39; LBJ got 42. By comparison, Jefferson averaged 33 last season. You also have to factor in missed games/injuries when a couple of the players will, by necessity, play > 40 mins. So up the the averages to 36/per for the three. That means, without factoring in any missed games for Kanter, Favors or Randle, you'd need Randle to play 12 mins at SF.

I don't see it as a waste at all. The only problem is with egos. Who would agree to come off the bench? They're all young and playing for their next big contracts.

I think it's a bigger issue that than...

Pair Randle with Kanter (trading Favors) - and you don't have enough defensive presence/shot blocking ability. Pair Randle with Favors (trading Kanter) - well, you lose Kanter who could potentially be an All Star IMO.

Unless you can trade either Favors/Kanter and get an All Stars Wing in return... but that's pretty unlikely.
