Following potential 2014 draftees

Did you read the whole post?

Hows about a team that has no shot at him anyway. If we had to trade away favors to secure last place it would be effectively(though not literally) trading Favors for Jabari or Wiggins or Randle or Exum plus whatever they were willing to give us in that trade.

Reading Comprehension

Why would we need to trade away Favors to secure last place? We're already on pace to get the last place without losing an asset.

Go back and watch the GSW Tankers when the sunk low enough to grab Harrison Barnes - they didn't have to trade away nobody.

the idea was to secure another asset while solidifying getting Jabari.

imagine

Burke
Hayward
Parker
Gordon
kanter

or

Burke
Hayward
Parker
kanter
embiid

Yeah, but, again, why would another team trade away the chance to grab "Embiid, the next Hakeem" for Favors?

Makes no sense for THEM to trade away a top #7 pick in this draft for Favors.

Because Favors is more of a proven commodity and further along in his development than Embiid. Lower risk, and maybe a franchise would prefer to win sooner rather than later (Embiid is a project).

But if you're projected to get #7, there is also a chance you'll luck out in the lottery and get top #3 pick.

Also if your team is bad enough to be #7 worst in the NBA, I don't think that team is any where near ready to pay big $ for Favors.

Hopefully we don't have to. We will have to see where we are around January.

Example we drop to 29th or 28th worst. Lakers are sitting at 8th.

We trade Kanter biedrins and jefferson for Nash and their unprotected first rounder a second round pick and some futures.(ps I didn't look up numbers so i don't know if salaries match but you get the idea)

I'd trade Favors, but not Kanter (we already have Gobert waiting as a true defensive Center). I've been saying this for a while now, trade Favors for the chance at Andrew Harrison.

But I doubt the Lakers would bite on Favors.

I actually meant favors woops. And I think their biggest problem is Nashs salary. they don't need the draft as bad as we do. They can get all stars in FA.

I think if they're in that position, they'd fancy their chance at grabbing top #3 in the lotto.

Money's not an issue with them IMO.

I think two picks in this loaded draft is enough. Unless we are presented a great offer. We will have a nice mix of young players, and players entering their prime. We can't start-over completely. To develop these guys this long then flip them for a pick that may or may not work out would be pretty upsetting.

I agree. The Pick is secondary. Getting the worst record comes first.

And btw did you see what a D-league player did at PG for us yesterday? I think Burke will be a very nice player, and be able to feed the guys in the post. I don't think we are a lock for worst record by any means.
