Following potential 2014 draftees

PKM where do you rate Okafor among Wiggins, Parker, and Randle as overall potential?

I think Okafor is a tricky one. If he can become a defensive force like Duncan w/o possessing any major athleticism he's my clear #1 over Wiggins. Why? What I've heard and seen he's going to one of the deadliest low post scorers the game has ever seen. That helps you so much in the playoff. WIggins with the back to the basket from the wing might be even more deadly, but he's much more unlikely to get there while Okafor already is very polished. His long arms indicate that he can play some kind of good defense physically. He's not a leaper, nor especially tall. But it might be enough if he really develops his defense as he's promised in interviews. If he was more mobile and usable as PF I wouldn't hesitate a single second and take him #1. But the way it is I'd say 60-40 for him #1 with the concern that he might be a defensive liability at C.

To clarify why I'd pick him #1. He's already shown he's capable of dominating at the next level. It's the same reason why the Rockets' fans don't cut themselves for drafting Olajuwon over Jordan. Okafor like Olajuwon and Duncan will get his team occasional championships for 1 reason. You can put basically every possible player around him and he'll make it work as long as they are skilled. With dominant wings and guards you need a much more skilled GM at putting together rosters, as you have a more difficult time balancing capspace, contracts and production needs.
If LeBron still played in Cleveland he'd be still ringless. That's a fact. Their ridiculous collusion to team up in Miami together with recruiting productive veterans to play for free is what his success is based on. Subtract 2 or 3 out of Allen, Battier, Anderson, Lewis and Haslem playing for market value and yeah they'd have max the lockout year asterisk championship.

Agree with this. If he was a defensive force like Duncan, plus the offense, I'd take him over any of the 3. That is why I'd take Wiggins over Parker right now.

I'm in Jabari's corner. Dude is just a #1 option scoring machine who could start on any team right now. However I reserve the right to change my mind fifteen times between now and draft night.

And I fear Marcus Smart may seriously regret his decision to return.

My only real concern with Parker is quickness. Can he consistently penetrate past his man in the half court? Can he stay in front of the elite SF's of the NBA? These are the main things I'll be watching for this season.

My top 3 ATM is:

1. Wiggins
2. Randle
3. Parker

I just think we should get a guy who can basically "live" at the FT line, a guy you can just give him/her the ball when nothing's on and make something happen and/or get to the line. Wiggins & Randle seems to have elite quickness for their position and will be able to do that easier than Parker.

I agree that Wiggins and Randle will be better at getting to the FT line.

Right now mine is:

1. Wiggins
2a. Parker
2b. Randle

Karl was not a freak athlete
He was not the biggest, not the quickest, not the strongest.
What made him great was he was relentless.
He never ever took a play off.
