What's new

Following potential 2014 draftees

Harris is sucking from 3 this year.

smart can't dribble, pass or shoot very well.

McDermott is lights out this year.

Parker has been solid across the board and is nba reay now.

wiggins has growing to do but I want to see more half court sets and better shooting.

randle is a beast but misses some easy shots after getting fouled.

I love embiid hustle

not sure what is wrong with wcs

young is top 10 material

Harrison's all I can say is wtf

poythress is showing 1 solid nba talent rebounding

kasey hill is good but he can't shoot either.

Aaron Gordon is the real deal second fav player after Parker. (not saying I would pick him second just say fav)

Payne would be a great bench player in the nba

not impressed with any pgs this year

Tyler haws is a baller but he is a pick in 2015 but wanted to mention his name

dakari Johnson needs to stay another year

lee is another John Henson.

And, he just turned 18!

Now, where's that Debbie Downer pictorial????

What I like about Aaron GOrdon ist that he plays defense and is very athletic. He'Ll be a big time weakside help defender. He really fills a need for teams that have Center that aren't exactly able to use their body for anything else than hookshots and rebounds. For example Orlando(Vucevic), Phoenix(Len), Charlotte(Jefferson), Sacramento(Cousins), Lakers(Gasol, Kaman), BOston(Olynyk) would really get an instant upgrade on defense. Like OKC if getting lured to the wing he can't always rotate, but at least you have to overutilize sets that do exactly that in games vs them, which again leaves opportunities for further adjustments, like having an athletic wing rotating.
Utah already has Favors. Gordon will probably be a better faceup/wing attacker and fast break trailer than Favors will be, but if Favors can finally improve his back to the basket game he won't be much worse than Favors is and eventually be on a cheaper contract.

I am not as high on Andrew Harrison.
I haven't seen Exum play enough to have him rated above Gordon
I would move up Embiid a few spots
James Young might eventually go higher.

WCS isn't getting the scoring opportunities but he looks great. I would love it if he were available with the GS pick but I highly doubt that unless people are asking what is wrong with him.

I've never liked any of those guys.... but Austin I consider a high risk high reward guy... very intriguing around 20.

This is exactly what we wanted before the season. All of these players to shine, and make us wet.

So far very early, but most of them seem to be living up to the hype! We need this in case we don't land
the #1 pick. We don't want this to be a one player draft. It may end up being Lebron and then a nod down with Carmello/Wade, but
looking back anyone is thrilled with those two consolation prizes. We just want to be happy, and have this losing season mean something.
All signs are pointing to epic-ness.
Don't forget that goose-egg of a second pick. If that happens to us, just think how devastated it will be for the org. And jazzfanz. Jason may have to consider shutting down jazzfanz till after the 2017 draft.
The problem with young Jazz fans is they didn't see Karl play in his prime. They remember the Finals Karl and not the young athletic quick Karl. That is a major reason why these young fans do not understand. Now Karl wasn't a quick jumper like Kemp or Griffin but there was no one stronger than Karl pound for pound in the NBA.

Of course hard work was part of the deal but Karl was strong at an early age. Karl was fast going straight ahead and he could jump high when he was younger. Now I don't think it was off the charts but he could get up there especially on the break when he wanted too. However, it was Karl's strength and his ability to run that made him a freak athlete.

Why most people don't think he is a freak athlete has to do with his lack of flash, quick jumping ability and spectacular dunks. Karl's strength and overall fitness maked him a freak.
just to give some perspective to young jazzfanz as to how strong the mailman was....

I remember a game against Orlando while Shaq was still there. Shaq was backing down in the paint at will getting easy dunks and layups, just killing us and dominating. Sloan then asks Karl to guard him. Shaq was forced to pass out as he could hardly back down Malone. And wasn't nearly as good the rest of the game.

This is just something that has always stuck out to me when I think about Malone.
Thats even worse than Gordon Hayward last night...
holy hell that............... Not really a word to describe that train reck of a game.

Defensively I'd say that Parker has better fundamentals but Wiggins athleticism and length (especially at the SG position) will create problems for whoever he defends.
