Following potential 2014 draftees

Hey guys, Jabari Parker isn't athletic, doesn't have a low-post game, and isn't that great defensively! Just look!

This is too abstract. Intellectually speaking, the idea works out. But, in reality, I don't think you find an ACTUAL trade partner for that deal. Just my opinion.

Agree... I think. It's not at all outlandish though for someone to get Hayward and 22 for 12..

It might not be. But that would still be a questionable move. If the Jazz part with Hayward, I'd prefer the S&T option since it would likely yield a future pick + a player of some known quantity still on his rookie-scale contract.

The difference between 15 and 25 is too small (in this draft, at least).

Yeah, there's no way I'm letting Hayward go for a non-lottery pick. He's one of the best young players in this league, and he has improved every season . He's averaging 18/6/5 on the season right now-- these players don't grow on trees. Particularly ones that are as good defensively, or play off-ball as well as Hayward. Every single team on the NBA would gladly welcome his addition to their squad.

I would dd 1 more to that

Wiggins
Randle
Parker
Exum
Smart
Gordon
Embiid

I think at this point Gordon still has a chance to drop to 11-12. I don't see him going much lower than that, and if he plays well he will end up solidly in the top 8, but he's not there yet, but probably will be in the next few months.

Talk about the sign a trade a bit. Teams that are over the tax cat participate in them anymore.

So who is giving us assets when they can just sign Hayward outright? Are we just looking for that team just under the tax that wants him and will give a pick?

Examples?

If we trade Hayward and the GSW pick, which players would you be willing to trade him for, since we're in this hypothetical discussion. Lets assume top 5 picks are out and we get Parker/Wiggins.

No one can just sign Hayward outright, if they want him, they have to hope we won't match. That means most of the RFA's end up being sign and trades if they leave the original team.

Yeah, it's obviously just a question of how much a team will offer him, and whether we feel he's actually worth that amount.

Think about a scaled-down version of what OKC did with Harden. We get a pick + a player. There are a few teams that have been stockpiling assets (like Houston did). The Cavs come to mind... lots of future picks... and they are trying to wins some games.

I like Seldon and Young.

btw nickkk you mentioned getting the trifecta I would say getting the trifecta would be drafting wiggns, Parker and randle.

trade Hayward to Phoenix their pick becomes #3 - randle
our pick #2 - Parker
then favors to sactown they get #1 - wiggins

then trade kanter for embiid

Burke, Jimmer, Neto
wiggins, Goodwin (from the Phoenix trade)
Parker, rush
randle, Thompson
embiid, Gobert

I like that team better but remember this was all done in jest

Obviously it depends which 10 spots. Moving from 27 to 17 wouldnt be worth it, but 21 to 11 may be.

+1

I want no part of Exum and feel bad for the GM who picks him. That's a Toronto Pick Move

You know 12 teams didn't want no part of Dirk, 27 teams didn't want no part of Parker, Ginobili went 57th, 24 passed on Batum, 23 on Ibaka, 22 on Mirotic. Marc Gasol was 47th pick...
You know being ignorant doesn't exactly win ballgames or championships...

So since this is an obvious pun against me, and I say BIFF alert hantlers, just that

1) The same thing that applies for UNC Trashville is valid for the East Trollolina **********s
2) In the whole video he has 1 failed attempt to post up against a guy smaller than 6'6. He's kept out, then the defender retarded enough to cover him from the front when he's already as far away as valid elbow position and Jabari turns around, getts the lob pass and can't even go to the basket then, instead decides to take a fade away baseline J.
3) For a 6'8 guy with a 7 foot wingspan, his 25" max vert isn't exactly impressive. Look how low he flies with the ball, can't get it high up.
4) I never doubted his ability to play, just said he wouldn't dominate via athleticism and I said I think he'll be the best teamdefender of the concensus top3 college prospects. Guess what he's shown, good timing on help and boxing his man out.
5) He did the damage from perimeter and off the ball when his defender rotated away. Pretty normal stuff.

So in case my foreigness misinterpret that and it was intended to support my point I'm sorry and this is further mockery for those who think he's athletic.
Otherwise you just got KKK'd.

Actually the high quality picks are available until

1 Wiggins
2 Randle
3 Parker
4 Exum
5 Smart
6 Gordon
7 Embiid
8 Young
9 Harrison
10 WCS
11 Vonleh
12 Hezonja
13 Saric
14 Selden
15 Harrell
16 Harrison2
17 Harris
18 Payne
19 Austin
20 Glen Robinson MCCCXXXVII
21 Lazy student Walker
22 McDermott
23 ADHD McGary
24 Warren
25 Carson

Not exactly how I'd rank them, some came to my mind late, but simply to illustrate the BPA talent pool from this year's class. The last of those usually go around 14 in normal drafts. I prolly even forgot some. But after 15 you'll see a smaller drop off. The 15 guy would in most guys be around 7 or 8 prolly. And the guys after that are more like 12+ questionmark but maybe they'll pan out guys.

True shooting 50%, eFG% 44, 15% TO ratio, 25% USG, 99 ORtg, 108 DRtg, .53 WS/48, and even .064 lower in free throw ratio(that's free throws to field goals) compared to his last years.
There's nothing sexy about that except for his 25% assist ratio and 15% DReb percentage.
Yeah he's no 2nd option. 25% is actually low 2nd option usage numbers. When he getts back to 3rd/4th option, who BTW should not get more than $8M if not an elite defender, his numbers will increase.

And now another thing:
Everyone so outrageous about Embiis, calm yourselves.
Of all the "I started playing ball after age 16 guys in the league", there's none who became a superstar and the best of this group that struck my mind was Tyrus Thomas ;)
People were excited about his upside as well. LOL
So Embiid would be the first late starter to be worth a top8 selection ;)
But since there's no efficient way to research if I missed guys this might very well be wrong.
