What's new

Following potential 2014 draftees

Former Rebel Mike Moser is having a huge bounce back season with Oregon. If he countinues at this pace he should move into the 1st round. I always saw him as a poor mans Danny Granger. If that GS pick falls into the 20's Id grab him with that pick over who is currently in that range.

Naw, that's just cause Duke's defense sucks.

hmmmm seems to be the case:

Dream ruined. My search for the new Stockton continues. He did look really good in the spurts of that game I saw though. Really shocked his assists #'s are that low for his career and season. I guess he just decided a game at the most revered college basketball arena was no biggie, and it was time to turn it on.

Jordan Adams (UCLA) is having a nice start to the season. Good shooter, nice size. Could be a nice SG at some point.

Kyle Anderson playing well too, except for the fact he can't shoot. Almost averaging a triple-double.

What makes you say that.

He said Jordan was injury prone. Jordan had 1 injury season where he missed 64 games and over another 11 full seasons where he played at least 78 games he missed a total of 7 games. Dude missed more games playing baseball. And how exactly is Iman Shumpert pushing his body to the limit? Why leaving out Ricky Rubio then? Rajon Rondo?

So Kanter is a healthy guy? How comes he played only 66 games his rook and 70 games his soph season?

Mentioning Shaun Livingston in the same sentence as Dante Exum is str8 up ridiculous. I don't know that Livingston injury was if anything reason for a lack of focus. There was no contact involved landing after a simple layup. Then mixing in TMac's back in the same sentence makes it even more stupid. So if you are a little bit lanky you're going to have every possible injury? ankles? knees? back? shoulder? hip? legs? penis?
I bet if I tried searching I'd give you a thousand healthy lanky players. Let's start with Dirk. Took a ton of beating, had 1 injury his whole career, for which he only missed time because medical staff made a wrong prediction about natural healing. He missed 46 games combined in his 15th full season now. Last season it was 29. If you average that out it's 3.3 games for the 14 full seasons without major injury as he's plenty time to injury himself this year. 10 out of these missed games happened in lockout seasons. So I don't know generalizing body types and making injury assumptions based on that is way off.

So Wiggins won't have injury problems because he is a natural athlete? Vince Carter was relatively healthy for a leaper but he missed significantly more time during his tenure than Jordan and Dirk? How comes I mean he's such a natural athlete he should be above injury.

Why would Parker have issues other than that he had a fractured foot? Will he get it again because of that one time? Or will it even mean he's now going to be susceptible for any other injury? And you said earlier guys with foot injuries are 40 inch jumpers. Oh wait I shouldn't continue here since half the board thinks that Jabari has a 40 inch no step vertical ;)

Randle has now back problems? He had a fractured foot as well? Does that mean we have another 40 inch guy? Or does he have a foot on his back ? Just because his game is similar to Webber doesn't mean he'll get the same injuries as that guy.

All NBA guys need to push their bodies to the limit. May it be in practice, game or whereever. The question is can they expand their game as their body ages to maintain efficiency.
Look at Carter, he's no longer an all star but he's still pretty efficient with his shooting. Wade's knee is so gone at age 31, that he said himself he won't ever play basketball without pain and that's why they're dosing his playing time and game nights. Carter is turning 37, a way better athlete and he's healthy. Comparing Wade and Davis btw is ridiculous. Davis had at least 5% extra body fat over Wade always.
I wouldn't play Dr. House just because you watched Emergency Room, Scrubs and what not.
Different people react different to certain situations, it is what it is. If the NBA was interested in less injuries they should stop with back to back games and seriously consider reducing playing time to 40 min.
The second Adam Silver is already promoting heavily(thank god).

and you guys wonder why some people are saying blow up the team. start from scratch.

Valid point. Watched the first half of the Jazz last night and it was almost as funny as Parks&Rec.

My guess is that THERE WERE ONLY 66 GAMES TO BE PLAYED IN HIS ROOKIE SEASON and his arm fell out of his shoulder last year. But hey, what do I know besides facts.

Oh **** you right lol. Forgot teh lockout. But doesn't matter. He went down already last night. So my statement can prolly be extended on the previous and this one ;)
12 from last season is still a ton to begin with :P

I want to add that this 2 year extension for Kobe is looking pathetic xD Seems like he doesn't value winning any longer.

Comparing these young players to former NBA players is flawed enough, but comparing their health to the health of former players is ridiculous.

5. Eric Mika, C, BYU Cougars
6-10, 230 pounds

The Utah native has been phenomenal thus far, whether it’s been scoring in the post, running the floor or on the glass. Mika had 17 points and nine boards in a losing effort against Iowa State.

“I was really impressed with him," Cyclones head coach Fred Hoiberg said. "If there is another freshman big man with as polished of an offensive game, I’d love to see him.”

Stats: 13.4 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 1.2 BPG | Previous rank: 9

That last quote is kind of funny because that's one of his perceived weaknesses and why everybody thinks he has so much upside. He does a have a nice hook, good rim awareness/court presence and showed more moves against Iowa State than anybody thought he had. Little doubt he'll be drafted at some point. He's a beast.

I still need to see more from him... what happens when his shots aren't falling????

He still defends, rebounds, steals, blocks shots and gets to the rim. Love the kid.

Not really a "creator" - he'll never be Chris Paul. But he's a point guard. Lead guard, floor general, wants the ball in his hands.

He's 1-5 from 3's today... NBA 3pt line is even further... I just don't like my PG clanking 3's after 3's off the rim...
