Following potential 2014 draftees

But does he play football?
No idea who this Gottlieb guy is, but here's his quote:

"In terms of reminding me of someone, I think he's closest to Matt Harpring, who averaged a solid 11 points and five boards over 11 NBA seasons. Harpring was tough as heck and contributed to a couple of Jazz teams that made deep playoff runs, but keep in mind that it took a year or two to find his role and adjust to the NBA.

McDermott is close with former Creighton star Kyle Korver, a guy who keeps working and who understands the role acceptance it takes to last for a decade in the NBA and be productive. Korver has been a starter for the past two years on playoff-caliber Atlanta Hawks teams.

you don't know doug gottlieb?

he was with espn, but he left to work with cbs. credible guy as far as college goes, but he can be biased - eddie sutton guy, a major big 12 homer. he was actually a pretty good PG for ok st. he couldn't buy a bucket, but he had impressive near 9 dimes a game.

Is Caris Levert a better long term prospect than Stauskas? At about 6'7" with a near 7' wingspan he could be a Jamal Crawford type player. His ball handling skills are pretty good for a 19 year old. His 3PT% has snuck up over 40%, and is a solid free throw shooter at 81%. Perhaps worth taking with our 2nd rounder if he declares.

he is a sleeper. he has been carrying the team for last 4-5 games now. stauskas is going through trey burke like wall. dude can't seem to create shots any more, missing open shots, and he just looks lost right now.

but levert needs to stay 1 more year. right now he is way too lanky.

Walter Tavares is probably going to move up to the 1st round hes 7'3, 265lbs with a wingspan of 7'9 only been playing basketball for 4½ years is coordinated and can run. im all for drafting him also an 80% free throw shooter

he just had a big game vs Real Madrid 16points 12rebs 4blocks

Those are some seriously long arms.

Surely this upcoming OK St. @ Baylor game would be interesting if the coaches were competent. Neither can develop players it seems.
Smart is still out so it looks like there'll be a bunch of late first and second rounders on display.

'Edy' Tavares has made a drastic improvement over the past 2 years going from the end of the bench on a lower league team to a starting C on a playoff team in Spain's first division, he leads the league in blocks 2.16 in just 20 mpg. hes been working with Spanish big-man coach Pedro Martinez for 2 years now, who helped Fran Vazquez and Marc Gasol have breakout seasons before heading to the NBA. he says Tavares is humble with great work ethic

Hes very good defensively on P-n-R's, has enough mobility to hedge screens, not as agile as Rudy but shows advanced anticipation for a player of his age/experience, recently held Tibor Pleiss(whos averaging 14points in 21mpg) without a feildgoal in a game.
Offensively he shows nice hands and touch around the rim, even has a nice hook shot but not much footwork to speak of and is strictly a finisher on P-n-R's

if he continues to get stronger especially in his lower body this kids going to be a major force

the story of how he started playing basketball is like something out of a movie; a German businessman on vacation in Tavares country(Cape Verde) was a friend of someone on Gran Canaria's coaching staff, he told his friend on the staff he knows a kid bigger than all the players on the team and showed him a pic of 7' 16 year old Tavares touching the top of a door frame with his elbow, so they try him out and thats the first time he touched a basketball or wore sport sneakers... before that he wasn't into sports and spent his time helping his mom sell fish and milk

I wonder if Tavares can play pf and have our own twin towers in Gobert and Tavares.

I think I am going to climb on the Doug McDermott bandwagon. who is with me?

I think he needs to be a floor-spacer playing with dominant slasher/scorers in order to be effective. Think Kukoc playing with Jordan and Pippen. He'd be a nice complementary player to Dante Exum if we somehow drafted that guy.

Looking at his tapes, he's actually a good enough athlete to get by, especially because he has a lot of motor and puts in constant effort. His issue is that he's undersized for a PF, unless a team goes small ball. I see him as a face-up SF, basically in the mold of a Wally Szczerbiak. He'll have to bust is *** on defense.

If he were an inch or two taller, he might be something like David Lee with range. When it's said and done, I don't think he'll have more impact than Marvin Williams is having this season.

...And that's your Doug McDermott forecast for the evening.

Vasilije Micic's Mega Vizura squad wiped the floor with Dario Saric's Cibona team today 102-74.. +1 if anyone can find highlights

Micic with 18 and 9 ast's

Saric with 19 points, Givony tweeted "Embarrassing stuff from the Croatians. Saric moping and complaining all game long"

I need to know more about the Kyle Anderson kid from UCLA.

He is a boss. My favorite NCAA player this year. If Draymond Green can play in the NBA, then so can KA. Really good 2nd round pick, would take after 20 in the 1st round.

He is probably the best PG in the nation, but he is 6'9. Can do everything.

He seems like an interesting combo-guard who can also play SF. I just wonder if he has a true position. He's definitely a skilled player, and I think he'll become a better shooter. I think he could do a lot of the intangible stuff that Hayward does. If he keeps working on his offense, he'd be a triple-threat player. He could be an ideal glue guy.
