Following potential 2014 draftees

Really had my heart set on Stauskas even when we were 1-19 and looking to get Wiggins, tbh.

Stauskas and Wiggins < 8th draft pick + no playoffs for years.

Reading this thread is soooooooooooooooooo depressing!! My god what the hell happened to that beautiful 1-14 start. Remember when we used to talk about Parker and Wiggins, then started saying we needed to watch for that Embiid kid to I'll be happy if we get Gordon.

Life sucks!!!!
What happened is that Trey Burke came back (vs having Lucas and Tinsley), Jazz started to play some home games and they didn't keep playing against the elite of the WC. 1-14 was a mirage.

so... I haven't visited this thread in a minute. I'm sure it's been discussed, and is now lost in this huge thread somewhere; so again, what do you guys think of Utah's Delon Wright? If GSW stays in the playoffs, do you think he's deserving of a serious look for their pick?

The more talented brother of Derrell Wright. Models game after Russell Westbrook and Dwyane Wade, and has worked out with both of them.

Strengths:

1. Athleticism
2. Ability to draw fouls and finish at rim (5.7 FTA's a game shooting .792%)
3. Shoots .598% from the field
4. Great height for PG at 6'5"
5. Can play at a fast tempo (important to maximizing Alec and Gordon's strength's)
6. Looks to get others involved (though only averages 5.4 assists)
7. Is active on the boards (6.8)

Weaknesses:

1. A little skinny at 178
2. Shoots 25% from 3 (though only takes 1.6 a game)
3. Although a freshman, he'll be 22 on draft night

Could be a nice compliment to Trey's game, since Trey struggles with fast tempo, getting to the rim, getting free-throws, and guarding/scoring on taller guards.

No cuz he needs to return to school.

If he comes out I would take him, but I doubt he will. If he does he will rise late because his measurements will be insane.

If the jazz drafted Wright then we would have to hear ute fans screaming that he should play over trey burke, and alec burks and how he is not getting enough minutes and he should play 48 minutes per night.

Dont want to deal with the circus of delonmania

and the LDS crowd would demand Jabari plays... you'd still take him though.

Point is, if someone is the BPA and fills a need on your team, you shouldn't pass on them because you're affraid of your fans.

Id pass because we are not a pack of racoons raiding through trash bins. That GS pick will be far to high for this garbage.

lol @ Wright in the 1st round

I too hope the Warriors pick ends un being a good pick. Wasn't it you who said it would be lottery or trash just the other day?

Might be a stretch, but there's still 4 months until the draft. I could see someone like Wright going in the high 20's very easily if he impresses in combine/workouts.

Almost all of the predictions that I've seen for Delon Wright are that he will get drafted in 2015 and be picked anywhere from #25-40

I realize I'm late to this, but anybody who thinks Michael Frazier > Stauskas is dumb. Period.

Stauskas is just as good of a shooter with a higher usage rate, has better size, isn't as one dimensional as Frazier...and Stauskas is actually pretty decent on defense. He's not a world-beater on defense, but he's not terrible either. Not a big concern IMO. Frazier doesn't really handle the ball, doesn't drive, doesn't create FT attempts, doesn't pass and he's an ok rebounder for a SG. Frazier is strictly a catch-and-shoot player whereas Stauskas is much more versatile.
