Following potential 2014 draftees

Randle is one that's going to do better in the nba. Calapri showing yet again OVERRATED as a coach.

Why?

He has to develop some skills outside of bully-ball. All he can do right now is out-muscle opponets. He is going to be awful in the Pros unless he develops some Millsap skills.

Smart's best talent is his scrappiness and toughness. He's a Jerry Sloan type of guy, and this current version of the Jazz could use a bit more toughness and attitude. His shooting just barely gets by though. Defenders are going to back off of him.

He should be able to develop Millsap skills and be better than Millsap, but that doesn't make him a Top 5 pick.

Why should he be able to? That is a pretty big jump from his current skill set to Millsap's. Just because he is highly rated HS player doesn't mean he is guaranteed to ever develop that skill set.

was thinking about drafting Smart and initially i was worried about the combined FG% of trigger finger trey(37%), greenlight gordon(40%) and smart the bogart(42%)

but then i was thinking if we have Trey, Alec, Marcus and Gordon and its not working they all should be very tradeable at next years deadline.

are there enough shots in the backcourt for all 4 though?? or would Gordon switch back to SF next season??

Marcus has some shortcomings but his steal rate is an indicator that he should find success in the pros. He also gets to the line with ease. Probably all mute as he is about to go off the last few weeks which will propel him top 5 and out of reach.

Kentucky is my favorite squad and im quite partial to lefties, but ive never been bat**** crazy about Randle... one of the first vids i saw of him was against Wiggins at peach jam and Wiggins had a spectacular block on him after a spin move.

vs LSU in the first matchup, he looked like a different player Jordan Mickey blocked him a few times and he was hesitant.

yesterday he did this crossover into a jumper at the top of the key, and i thought to myself, is this TOP prospect really telegraphing his moves like this?

that spin move he does is going to get eaten alive in the NBA... hes too predictable

all that being said hes not going to fall out of the top 10 this year, whats the issue/redflag you see PKM?? have you seen/heard anyone talking about his moves being predictable or is it more of a lack of elite size/athleticism type deal

Btw....Wichita state is a complete joke. Made a fool of the ranking system. 31 and o against nobody's??? Note to middling coaches everywhere, strength of schedule does not matter.

I'm guessing that their results from last year are figuring into boosting their ranking.

Unless you think getting to the Final Four one year only to follow it up with an undefeated season is a "joke."

It's a joke dude. Strength of schedule is terrible. I'll guarantee you this... They don't make it into the sweet 16. No joke bro.

Isn't the squad basically the same that made a sweet 16 2 years ago and final 4 last year?
I have read somwhere that Wichita State wanted to get a stronger non conference schedule, but top teams were all ONLY interested to have them visit them. Wichita wanted home and home schedules and since they're guaranteed a tournament slot for winning their conference they figured that's bad business and felt their final 4 last year would make them interesting opponents. Didn't happen.

I agree

Randle is a pre-bust. Trust me. He is 2nd round value.

So are you hurt about Kentucky being so bad this year and if not share your view.

I'm generally very amazed that every prospect other than Embiid and Parker has been underwhelming. Is it that their high school class was so bad that they could make themselves look better than they are? I mean these scouts have been there for years and they have seen other top prospects. And the concensus was 2013 high school class is special.

They made the Final Four last year. If their strength of schedule really showed then why weren't they ousted early in the tournament just like most Utah schools are? Utah state did this year after year and were quickly destroyed in the first round year after year.

A team doesn't make it to the Final Four by accident.

Then, to follow it up with an undefeated season?

I think they just might be for real.

My deal with them is that they play NOBODY! NOBODY! They have not gone through the rigors of 30 games season that most mid-major to majors do. Only one other team in their division has a record above .500. I am not buying it. They may get lucky as they will end up with the number one seed, but I am hoping that 8,9 they face is formidable and will wipe them and flush their asses back where they belong. Btw...I hate Cinderella stories unless steph curry plays for them.

They beat St.Louis. They weren't ranked at the time, but they are a 10th seed now. They've beaten a lot of decent SEC teams (Tennesse, Alabama) and they handled a decent BYU squad.

They've also won nearly every game by double digits.

Also, who has UK beaten? They have 1 good win against Louisville, then a string of losses to decent SEC teams, teams that Wichita State would probably handle.

Hopefully next year Wichita schedule an OOC schedule with more balls against a powerhouse or two.

If Smart were BPA, then I assume Utah would move Hayward to SF or even work a sign-and-trade. I doubt that happens, though. Unless the Jazz land in the top-3, which I believe is clearly defined, BPA is going to be subjective and team needs may play a part or as a tie-breaker.
