Following potential 2014 draftees

If Smart were BPA, then I assume Utah would move Hayward to SF or even work a sign-and-trade. I doubt that happens, though. Unless the Jazz land in the top-3, which I believe is clearly defined, BPA is going to be subjective and team needs may play a part or as a tie-breaker.

1. Wiggins
2. Embiid
3. Parker
4. Gordon
5. Smart/Exum

I don't really know enough about Exum to rank him above or below Smart. I'd draft Smart and play him at SG. Definitely wouldn't trade Gordon just because I got Smart. As long as Gordon isn't signed to a ridiculous contract, he will be a trade-able player if need be.

Aaron Gordon 4th ??? you see him as more than a roleplayer???

I try to like him, i was one of the first to post his mixtape way back but what gets me is;

lack of touch around the rim (misses lots of bunnies then follows them up...)
GordonTroubleORebs_1.gif

43% freethrow shooting
same undersized frame as Randle (considerably weaker)
his footwork blows, passing is overrated, handle is very average
and i wonder why he doesnt get more blocks/steals

Marcus has some shortcomings but his steal rate is an indicator that he should find success in the pros. He also gets to the line with ease. Probably all mute as he is about to go off the last few weeks which will propel him top 5 and out of reach.

Is it just me or will Smart = Rodney Stucky

I think Smart is an All-Star caliber player if his 3 becomes more respectable and he develops a better mid-range game (floaters).

Kentucky is my favorite squad and im quite partial to lefties, but ive never been bat**** crazy about Randle... one of the first vids i saw of him was against Wiggins at peach jam and Wiggins had a spectacular block on him after a spin move.

vs LSU in the first matchup, he looked like a different player Jordan Mickey blocked him a few times and he was hesitant.

yesterday he did this crossover into a jumper at the top of the key, and i thought to myself, is this TOP prospect really telegraphing his moves like this?

that spin move he does is going to get eaten alive in the NBA... hes too predictable

all that being said hes not going to fall out of the top 10 this year, whats the issue/redflag you see PKM?? have you seen/heard anyone talking about his moves being predictable or is it more of a lack of elite size/athleticism type deal

I et you have never even been to the state of Kentucky have you

Gordon actually has pretty decent handles and can guard on the perimeter. If his jumper was better, I'd say he could play SF.

Not everyone.

Yea I am not on the Smart bandwagon either. I mean if he is the best player available then I would be fine with having him. I just don't think he is a PG and I would rather Burks get minutes at the SG. I'd rather have Gordon or Vonleih than Smart but I really want the Jazz to get Wiggins, Embiid or Wiggins. I don't know enough about Exum but I have soured on him with all the Laker talk.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the Jazz will have much chance at the top 5 unless they get some lotto luck.

That's the point, he will prob be BPA if we're picking outside the top 5, which we prob will be.

For the record, I'd be fine with Gordon, Vonleh, or Smart. I wouldn't bitch too much if we passed on Smart for one of those other two. I could see anyone of them having the best career. It's hard to say.

Start Burks at SG and bring Smart off the bench. He can be subbed in for either Burke or Burks.

This is why i wouldn't just go BPA. No one knows who will be the best player of the 3, so imo jazz should look at them and draft the one that fits thier system and need position wise the most.

You could draft smart because he is the so called "BPA" and then gordon and vonleh both end up much better than him and we have burks, hayward, trey, neto all playing ahead of smart and we just wasted a pick.

Could happen just the opposite as well..... no one knows who the BPA is until they have been in the league a few years so i would pick based off of positional need, system, attitude/interview stuff
