Following potential 2014 draftees

Lol at cherry picking his worst 4 games and only showing those.

Look at his last 8, he had 2 bad offensive performances. He has scored over 20 twice in the past 6 games, something he only did once before that.

you said he turned the corner so i figured id check his last 10 games for an uptick and the #'s looked identical, if thats cherry picking then i guess im guilty

I think I'd take Jabari over Wiggins. I think this team needs a home-run draft pick in terms of offensive production, and I think Jabari gives us a higher chance at that.

Jabari is more of a sure thing, whereas Wiggins is the gamble. I'd hate (to be the Jazz GM) and get the 1st overall pick of this draft, cuz I'd have an *** of a time deciding between Embiid, Wiggins and Parker

I agree with ya. Parker is the safe bet and i think he would be an amazing stretch 4 on the jazz.... having said that i would still prefer wiggins.
But i agree with you, i would almost rather have the 2nd or 3rd pick rather than the first..... almost.

heres Burks season Vs the Linsanity one btw

I'd put Parker at the 3, and whoever we keep from Burks and Hayward at the 2. Burke at the 1. Favors at the 4, and maybe Kanter at the 5 if he ever develops a shred of defense.

Otherwise, if we get Burks for cheap and we retain Hayward, then we could play Parker at the 4 as well

Burke
Burks
Hayward
Parker
Favors

that's a damn-nice core. There won't be a lotta touches for all, but it'll be a nice core nonetheless.

Parker is a 4 in the league, imo. He's a massive defensive liability defending sf's in the NBA... like embarrassingly bad, I bet.
I think he's be strong enough to handle most PF's but could be very difficult for PF's to defend.

Situational sf, sure.. but a PF.

Was gonna say the same thing.
Parker would get killed defensively by small forwards.
Hes got dat poly blood in him so i think he will only get bigger and stronger..... plus he is playing center for duke so he already being trained as a big.

He will be an amazing stretch four imo... probably the best that the league has ever seen

Did I mention that Embiids back problems concern me?

"@franfraschilla: KU's Joel Embiid headed to California today to see back specialist tomorrow. Can't be great news even if precautionary."

This could be a good thing..... hopefully gm's are concerned as well and he falls to the 7th spot to us.

I will take an embiid with back health question marks over gordon, vonleh, saric, etc

We're gonna get boned in this draft. We'll be left not getting a future all-star and DL will make some moves for a couple quality players...

crazy finish to regulation in this Maryland - UVA game.... Prime example of when fouling up 3 with just a few seconds left goes wrong

Even though I want Wiggins, I wouldn't be upset if they took Parker if they get the top pick. Hell, even Embid I'd be happy with (and if he really is the next Hakeem how do you not take him...but I certainly can't judge that) though I do want one of the SFs.

Around this time last year he measured 6'9 in shoes. Basketball is played in shoes. 6'9 is decent PF size.

*Swear to God if Fabtrey lectures me on 1/4 of an inch I will murder someone*

i'm leaning towards him being 6ft 7 barefoot. derrick williams tweener mold. if he is 6ft 9 with shoe on then he just improved his stock for solid top 8. he could really fall if he comes in at 6ft 6. like late teens to early 20's fall.

but i would still take him at #8 ish regardless of his measurement. i love these offensively challenged willing defender. he could be joakim noah of 3 sometimes 4. guys with heart.

Don't sleep on Gobert as the future of the Jazz at center. He rebounds and defends at least as well as Favors does.

Gordon's handle is sick for his size.

Every game I watch of his, he gets super excited after making a coast-to-coast play.

let's say your assumption is correct. he is indeed 6ft 9 with shoe on. guess what? that's paul george size. paul george was measured at 6ft 7 3/4. nobody ever says george has great handles for his size. hell jeff green too. 6ft 7 3/4. actually green probably has longer winspan. both george & green are listed at 6ft 9.

bottom line - you are supposed to have a handle like that when you are athletic 3 in nba especially when you are a top 10 pick. i have seen about 6 arizona games, but handles was not his strong asset. i think it's adequate. but i didn't think he was comfortable working off the dribble.

i originally thought he could play 4 because like you i assumed that he would be tall enough and have frame to add pounds. but right now, i think he is 3 and situational 4. tweener. so he better have great handle if you want to take that next level up or he would always be offensively challenged.

but i like the kid, love his defensive intensity, basketball iq, and intangibles. he would be a good fit for us. but only if we don't tank hard enough and get #7-#9th pick.

Yes, accept the letdown now.
This is like Darth Vader telling Luke to give in to the dark side of the force

If Favors and Kanter doesn't work, a lineup of Gobert and Favors would be catastrophically bad. Think Gobert is more suited as a backup giving some needed defense to the 2end unit.

Btw, Randle's problems are mostly attributed to his handles needing more work than he realized coming out of HS. He's a beast that is majorly tempered by his lacking confidence in holding his dribble in tight traffic. He can beat a press as a point fwd in the open court but has work to do handling it in the lane with multiple guys swiping at the ball.

That's the difference of the once-hype and now.

Meh. Randle has lived up to the hype. You don't want him handling the ball too much - especially as a point forward. You want him down in the post most of the time where he is near the basket and can be the bully he is. Florida is a good, strong, athletic, big, good defensive team and they simply couldn't handle Julius down low there for about a 10 minute stretch.
