Following potential 2014 draftees

I'm confused. Duncan and Parker can carry a team by themselves but they are teammates? Lebron, yes, but Wade sans LeBron or Shaq? Westbrook sans Durant? Amare could carry a team by himself but Peirce couldn't in his prime? Genuinely confused. Am I reading it wrong.

I'm using what I undertand is your definition. You're saying Peirce couldn't do it until they got Allen and KG right?

You can't build a successful playoff team with Pierce as your go-to/franchise player. The Celtics were a perpetual lottery team when Pierce was their best player. They were dead last before the Celtics picked up Allen and KG.

You can build a successful playoff team around the other guys I mentioned.

Hmm, ok. That said, I would agree on really only a few of those. Thats just my opinion though.

Decent List. +Rep.

Which Harrison do you have at #19--Aaron?

Also, what's the news on Hezonja entering the draft?

Andrew at 19, i really dont think hes that much worse of a shooter than Aaron but i do think Andrew is a good bit better at getting to the rack

im not sure theres much news on Hezonja in the draft, its a toss up, id bet he stays in Europe another year but thats mainly just because he hasent played much.

his #'s per 36 are all pretty damn good, his shooting percentages are great(50, 44, 88) and for all the **** he gets about passing hes managed 3.5 assists per 36. he did accumulate these numbers on 11.7 mpg mostly in garbage time so its really a tough call

How many posters here would draft Marcus Smart and play him at PG ahead of Trey Burke?

All in favor say 'Aye.'

All opposed say, 'Screw off.'

Screw aye

Anyone want to give an Aaron Gordon stat line prediction?

22 points
8 rebounds
4 assist
3 blocks
2 steals

16 pts
8 boards
3 assists
2 blocks
2 steals

And rondo.

I agree with you about pierce.... his championship team was loaded

So Chad Ford is now projecting Jabari as the #4 pick (ESPN)---Wiggy, Embiid, Exum as the top 3.

Could happen... Magic really want a point guard supposedly. It's all going to depend where people are drafting and how the draftees do at workouts.

If I'm Exum or his reps I only have him do measurement stuff at the combine. I guess thats probably a no-brainer though.

Check this out from Kevin Pelton's chat. More dumping on Harrison Barnes. Worth tanking for? Kinda makes me laugh.

I saw Thorpe wrote up on the disappointing sophomores. What do you make of Harrison Barnes' issues this year? We all know he's still young, but is it just confidence issues or is the system around him lacking in some way?

Kevin Pelton
I don't think he's very good at basketball. I mean relative to the world, obviously he is, but he didn't rate well in college and has rated well in the NBA for about a month last April/May. That's a long time to live off an assessment of potential from his senior year of high school, and it seems to overwhelm systems, etc.

I'm 6'2", 175lbs. I can touch the bottom of the net and easily dunk on an 8' hoop. Insane upside but I take complete months off, mentally. I could see me as high as 7, behind Randle, or as low as completely undrafted.

So there seems to be a consensus top eight, in no particular order.

Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Vonleh, Gordon, Randle, Exum, Smart

Anybody know of any other players that could be picked ahead of any of these dudes?
