Following potential 2014 draftees

If it was that easy, why doesn't Lebron just screen/pick to isolate the center every possession?

cause he dont need to. Aint nobody in the league (PG included) that lebron cant score on. Plus lebron likes a challenge

Another way to look at the offense vs defense arguement..... lets take a couple of players who are elite on one end and straight horrible on the other end and see who people would choose.

Harden or tony allen
Kevin love or reggie evans

You decide who you would rather have

What is this suppose to prove?

Also, if I pick Tony Allen, can I spend my max contract on a player who plays both sides of the floor?

Yup best in the league defenders with bad offense dont get max money.

Best in the league offensive players that dont play defense do get max money.

I wonder why that is the case

Still at a loss in how this is suppose to prove that Harden > George. Just because you would take a dominate offensive player w/ no defense over a dominant defensive player w/ no offense doesn't mean that the player who is better at offensive is always the better player.

oh i wasnt trying to prove that harden > george. Thats impossible to do, it all comes down to personal preference. I dont think you are crazy or wrong for thinking george is better.

I was just showing why i think elite offense > elite defense

You could make the arguement that an elite defender with better than average offense (george) is preferable to an elite offensive player with below average defense (harden) for sure. Thats a pretty valid arguement/opinion.

Like i said, i dont think you are wrong for thinking george is superior..... i just would rather have harden

James Harden or Bill Russel?

James Harden or Bill Russel?

Not sure.
Never seen them playing against one another or against similar competition.

Most likely i would take russell though.
Just my personal preference

Pippen or Harden?

Payton or Harden?

Elite defense son.

I apoligize for preffering harden to george. I hope you can forgive me.

At least i came around to liking aaron gordon though so hopefully that makes you feel better

I just take the player that makes the team better. Whether he's better at offense or defense is irrelevant. It's more about the overall net contribution to the team. The way I see the Harden v George thing is, if George were to take Harden's place on the Rockets, I would guess: Net gain on defense < Net loss on offense, therefore, replacing George with Harden would make them worse at the present. Wouldn't be a bad move for the future though.

You're killing it today!
On the other hand: If you swap Westbrook against George, both teams would prolly profit from that move.

Damn.. You're right.. 1.5 BPG and 1.1 SPG is below average.

Jabari Parker averaged 1.2 BPG and 1.1 SPG. By your logic, he must be a good defender.

Do you understand why that rationale is stupid?

/I'm not saying Favors is a bad defender. I'm saying that quantifying his defensive play by using blocks and steals is stupid.
