Following potential 2014 draftees

Just got word from the inside..
Twins wanted to return and everyone trying to figure out why the delay in announcing.
I just heard that Sandy Bell, UK's compliance officer, is doing her homework and it appears their pops may have done something that jeopardized their amateur eligibility.

So he did the classic 'Took a loan against future earnings of his kids'

Thing that sucks for them is: This year they were the underwhelming freshman that appeared to improve towards the end.
Next year they'd be the guys who could turn their story around in a draft where everyone below 6'9 and not named Mudiay MOST LIKELY sucks.

Yeah, they certainly fell off the face of the draft earth during the season. Sucks that their dad cost them tons of money. What a dick.

I still view McGary as a very poor man's David Lee…just less athletic and less of an offensive game.

He's a hustle player, not a lot of skills, decent size.

Aaron and Andrew Harrison have decided against NBA Draft, will return to Kentucky for sophomore seasons, source tells Yahoo Sports.

I mean Andrew was slotted top10 before the season started, Aaron around 20.
Now they're reportedly 30 and 40. Depending on their workouts that number may shift more towards 20 and 30, but if they'd do a really good next season(Improved 3 point shot, no more lackluster defense, advanced metrics darlings) then they'd have a chance to sneak into the lottery again.

If they enter right now and their game was underrated on the collegiate level(which I doubt) then they'll actually make more money this way. But a guarantee next year would have been a good protection in case they bust out pretty fast.

UK is crazy right now. The return has leaked but Sandy Bell hasn't given the clear yet.

quick summary of link to article by LjJazzman for those non-readers.
- Rex Chapman evaluated one-and-done players since 2006
.
- Group 1: one year players who are 1st Team All-Conference or better (All American/ POY) and drafted top10, are essentially assured to be "good to great" NBA players. (6 of 16 are all stars) He defines these players as those who dominated their peers in college - and thus are doing so in NBA

- Group 2: one year players who are not All Conf, but are FREAKISHLY good at something (athletic usually) and are drafted top 19, will be players in NBA. (~50% are double figure scores and the 50% are "on the rise.") Derrick and Enes are in this group. A couple of players drafted outside of 19 are successful, but that is not the rule.

Group 3: one year players who are drafted after 19 – 50% of them are busts and the other half play in the NBA at scrub level.

He lists the one and done players from this year
group 1:
*Andrew Wiggins – Kansas
*Julius Randle – Kentucky
*Jabari Parker – Duke
*Aaron Gordon – Arizona

group 2
*Tyler Ennis – Syracuse
*Joel Embiid – Kansas
*Noah Vonleh – Indiana
*Zach LaVine – UCLA (He's debatable...)

He says no other freshmen should come out. Stay in college and practice your game and be taught the game. Otherwise, you'll ride the pine and not ever play enough to reach your full potential.

Not a McGary fan anyways. I think he sucks. No, Fatbrey, Enes kanter is way better

kanter is a better athlete with better potential. but healthy mcgary from 2 years ago was ahead of kanter in terms of knowledge of the game, post game(not saying alot, lol), much better hands, better handles, and feel for the game. Mcgary is better basketball player than kanter. but of course, that doesn't mean he is better. i think grow potential on mcgary is kinda low.

just too bad he is too old and lost 1 year of precious playing time. down the road i can see mcgary being 13/7 guy who will be team's enforcer. and honestly i think that's where kanter is heading.

i think he is worth our 2nd round pick if we decide to go gordon/smart/exum route. if he pans out he could be our glue guy off the bench and be a physical presence.
