Following potential 2014 draftees

Any predictions on where Myles Turner declares tomorrow ?

this was his list and breakdown a few weeks ago at the Jordan Brand Classic

Duke: “I feel like I fit in because Coach K has coached a lot of versatile bigs and that’s kind of what I am at this point. I feel like he’s one of the best coaches in college basketball.”

Kansas: “Kansas, I like the high-low system that Coach Self runs, due to the fact that I can play both the high and the low in that system with Cliffand a couple of other bigs over there. That would be really cool to be a part of.”

SMU: “I really like Coach Larry Brown. I watched them play a lot this year. They get up and down the floor. That’s kind of where my game is, I like to run in transition. And being connected to Coach Brown has a big appeal to it.”

Texas: “It’s in my backyard. Hopefully I can come down there and make an impact like Kevin Durant did. If I were to be able to do that, it would be pretty cool.”

Oklahoma State: “I like the fact that I can come in there and immediately make an impact on their program because they’re losing a lot of people next year and that overall appeal to the Big 12, to go down there and make an impact that would be pretty cool.”

Texas A&M: “Coach Billy Kennedy, they need a big down there. They’ve been recruiting me for a long time. To come down there and do that, that would be a good experience.”

Ohio State: “They need a big as well. They don’t have a true center at this point. Coach [Thad] Matta, I really like him and his whole coaching staff. I”ve talked to them, they’re one of the schools that I’ve talked to the most.”

im kind of hoping for SMU or OSU, just a wild guess though

Texas.

W/ SMU close behind.

I laugh at anyone who thinks all Randle can do is score and rebound, tbh.

I agree.
Its to the point that randle is getting under-rated and overlooked by everyone

Considering he was supposed to be drawing double and triple teams all season i would expect his assist numbers to be higher than that, pf or no pf

The fact that he was getting doubled and tripled makes it seem like he would have had less points and rebounds than he did.

He was a double double machine despite double and triple teams.

Does a guy who gets tons of double doubles and forces opponents to double and triple team him not have value anymore?

What has vonleh done production wise? Exum?

Measure well? But those guys have all the built in excuses about how young they are and how we didnt get a chance to see what they could do and the coach didnt use him right.

Does production on the court not matter? How about winning games in the playoff?(ncaa tourney)

Fish, of course the production matters, which is why he's still a lottery pick.

What matters more though, is whether or not that production will translate to the NBA. There are oodles of guys who could score a lot in college, but not score in the NBA. Tons of guys who could rebound in college, but couldn't rebound in the NBA. Randle was easily one of the best players in college this year, but I just have a hard time seeing his game translating well in the NBA.

Vonlehs Per 40 #'s are 17ppg, 13.6rebs, 1.3stls, 2.1blocks on 10.9FGA's

Randle's ------------ 19.4ppg, 13.5rebs, .6 stls, 1.0blocks on 12.7FGA's

Parker's ------------- 25.4ppg, 11.4rebs, 1.4stls, 1.6blocks on 18.6FGA's

Gordon's ------------ 15.8ppg, 10.2rebs, 1.1stls, 1.3blocks on 12.9FGA's

All im saying is that if someone who knew nothing about these players read this thread from last few weeks they would probably think that randle is a player who people might have thought was pretty good at one time but now totally sucks.

Its seems as if randle has tons of weaknesses and very few strengths and that his strengths only exist cause he was up against less talented players in college vs nba.

The biggest problem is that many of his weaknesses are presumably unfixable. Can't fix[size]

basically his wingspan. I agree that is a weakness but as far as passing, going right, defense, etc.... all of those are coachable/fixable/schemeable.

Agreed.

Will never understand why some people place so much importance on the wingspan saying "Raptor arms", etc, if the guy plays hard and fights hard, those measurements aren't deal breakers, tbh.

I dont understand HOW randle gets all them double doubles against all kinds of double teams..... he just does it.

Kind of like z-bo. randolphs game is way ugly but its effective.

Maybe that is randle, which is pretty damn good considering randle is quicker and more athletic than randolph
