Following potential 2014 draftees

I pity the poor suckers who would be disappointed if the Jazz got this beast in the draft:

Some guys just have "it". It doesn't matter the level they play at, you put them on the court, they were born to be stars. Randle was born to be a star. People are worried about wingspan. Randle is simply the most talented, toughest, hardest working guy on the floor and he knows he can't be stopped. Charles Barkley was a 6'5", but he had it. He was too skilled, too strong, too talented and he knew he was better than everybody else. That's Julius Randle. If the Jazz don't get Randle, it's all moot, I won't give rat's *** about him. But if the Jazz do draft him, jump on the bandwagon and enjoy the show, baby!

Mike Scott, Tomike Shengelia, Tobias Harris, Markieff Morris, Marcus Morris, Tomislav Zubcic, Trevor Booker, Luke Harangody, Dante Cunningham, Taylor Griffin, DeMarre Carroll, Jon Brockman, Darrell Arthur, Trent Plaisted, Donte Greene, Maarty Leunen, Craig Smith, Jason Smith, Carl Landry, Glen Davis, Reyshawn Terry, Cody Zeller, Joffery Lauvergne, Erik Murphy

are the illustrious group of PF's drafted since 06' with a wingspan of 83" or less that Randle, Gordon, Saric and McDermott are about to join

Yikes. A graveyard.
(FWIW Scott has been killing Indiana in this first round :) )

And if you actually watched the games, you would realize that Randle doesn't shoot from deep well, doesn't pass well, and sure as hell doesn't defend well.

You can't just ignore the numbers nicky boy, they do tell part of the story. Certainly not the entire story, but you can't just ignore them.

I think he's gotten butthurt as Randle's gotten trashtalked once too much. Prolly just trolling to turn the situation around.

This is how Randle was guarded all year. He averaged a little over an assist per game.

He's a great passer guys!!!

So kkk care to explain me what playmaking options Randle has in that situation?

basically his wingspan. I agree that is a weakness but as far as passing, going right, defense, etc.... all of those are coachable/fixable/schemeable.

There's things that are coachable in that selection

a) Calipari emphasizes defense a lot because he knows he can't win by pure offense with inexperienced freshmen. Randle hasn't responded to the demand to play defense. Half the NBA coaches emphasize that less, how likely is it that he changes his approach?
b) draftexpress guy wrote somewhere in the past that severely improving your handles happens very rarely. Like it's really rare. Rarity level of guys developing good free throws late in their twenties.
c) Coaches usually say that court vision is something that's nearly impossible to coach. Either players have it or they don't. If they don't they sometimes can screw your offensive schemes a lot.

yup. also in the past 15 years there's been 0 1st 2nd or 3rd team All-NBA PF's with a 83" wingspan or less

The burns...

It would be awesome if there were no changes in the draft lottery and went like this...

Milwaukee - Wiggins
Philly - Embiid
Orlando - Exum
Utah - Parker

If we do get Parker, he should play the sf position for us.

That's actually a real possibility.... I can see why Philly would take Embiid... pair him with Noel and you have a real defensive frontline.

Orlando desperately needs a PG.. Exum can be a MCW type PG for them.

Of course it is a possibility but at this point we don't even know the draft order. I agree that Orlando could take Exum and I believe they will if he is on the board or if they get the number #3 pick. I don't see them taking him number one unless he blows up the combine. This is going to be a fun lottery to watch.

Wasn't Orlando huge on Marcus Smart last year before he opted not to be in the draft?

The Donald Sterling news has distracted us to the point that we have had to troll HotKKK into believing that there are others out there thinking Randle can play SF.

Newsflash for HotKKK: Randle is not as good as the top 4 of this draft, and he ain't no SF

See where you are off base is that Randle is likely a SF. I think that he has been pigeon holed as PF, when he has all the skills to play on the wing. He really wasnt allowed to play on the outside this past season, but all through HS he showed more than enough game from the outside to tell me he is capable.

This. If he had played for an actual coach and not just a recruiter, this would have been apparent to more than just a handful of people.

Do we have evidence that he didnt pass the ball to the open teammate on this play? (which his teammate probably would have just missed the shot on anyways)

Seems like kentucky did pretty well this past season as far as winning was concerned. (National championship game)

I wonder why Jerry never thought of this with Karl. I mean, maybe he was supposed to be a small forward all along, and that is why we never won the championship in the 90's. Karl was hungry, as evidenced by his Hardee's commercials, he loved his neighbour, as evidenced by that pair of twins he found out he had fathered when they were 18, and he has holy ghosts, as evidenced by his ability to speak in tongues on the radio and all.

Hey-well now you are taking this a little too far. We all know that Karl wasnt a SF. And yes he did love Hardee's and bone bishes but that still didnt make him a SF.

This.

Seriously, it's funny how only you and I can see this possibility. Given proper development, I really do think Randle will thrive at the 3 - as you've said he would physically dominate at that position. Hopefully others can somehow catch up on us. Last year only me and Sexual Favors thought MCW was any good, so I've been there before, I know it's lonely at the top, but when you're proved right, boy does it feel good.
Of the starting SF's in the league, who can he defend?
This is like Boozer at PF. He scored a lot of points, but often gave up far more on the other end.

Why don't we just play Hayward at PG, Enes at SG, Randle at SF, Favors at PF and Gobert at C. Who could stop that lineup? Jazz are taller at most every position.

Since 2000, only three lottery picks have won a championship with the team they were drafted by.

Dwyane Wade, Darko Milicic and Andrew Bynum

What the? Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan account for most of the rings since 2000...

Not to mention Dirk and PP.

All of them won rings with the team that drafted them.

I don't get the point.
