What's new

Following potential 2014 draftees

A little bit of both. He's been there for a couple months.. moving up from around 8/9.

That's where I thought you had him (8/9), so I was surprised to see him as your #5 now. Probably have not been keeping up as much with this thread. IMO, he's a higher risk/reward than some of the others. If the Jazz draft him, I hope he doesn't turn out to be a player like Marvin Williams - i.e. starter, but not really an impact player. With his length and shooting ability, he could be the exact type of PF the Jazz need to pair with Favors. Vonleh and Hayward could really spread the floor.

I have flip flopped on vonleh and Gordon. both are good defensively but vonleh has better offense. the only redeeming quality of Gordon is if DL thinks he can play SF. if Gordon can play the 3 then he is #5 but if he is a 4 then vonleh is better.

I'd rather not trade any of our young guys before they've seen a good coach.

They've all "seen" good coaches. The problem is they've all been on the opposing sideline.

I agree, though. The evaluation that should have taken place over the last 2 years has been retarded (and by that, I mean delayed...I am in no way making reference to either coaches or random guys on IG). Let's see what the current group plus the two first-rounders can do under a new staff and with new offensive and defensive schemes before deciding to trade any of them.

Damien Inglis looks like a potential steal tbh. 3 and D candidate is a bit of a stretch though, he put up good %'s but there's plenty of kinks to be worked out with his mechanics.. opponents dont really respect his shot

other than his size/age/defensive potential, what i really like is the way he dribbles and passes when attacking the basket

Not really. I do think they have similarities in their game, and while Bledsoe is a strong guard, he doesn't have Smart's sheer size. EB goes about 6'1" 200, while Smart comes in at 64" 225-230. I think what makes Smart intriguing is that despite the big body, he's pretty quick laterally.

As far as body type goes, Smart is like a shorter LeBron. Very unique build.
