lol at PKM's insistance that he was the first to rep Exum. Never mind that you could find volumes on him on DX and other draft sites.... PKM was the first HERE braughs.

Just finished watching the Elfrid Payton interview on dx. He's asked where he thinks he's gonna get drafted and his answer is:
My agent says it's 12 to 21. If that's true kind of a rise.
Smart guy. Always project yourself higher. Maybe someone with multiple picks likes him and takes him higher than mid-20's fearing he'll be off the board. Can't blame a guy for dreaming.

LaVine helped himself a lot with his Combine performance. I was hoping he would be available at 23, doesn't look like it now.

Dante Exum's standing (31.5 inches) and max vertical (34.5) are just middle of the pack. Standing vert is the same as MCW, max much lower. He had the fastest running times amongst guards. NBA agents have ruined the combine by pulling out lottery candidates. I bet Exum's agent will limit how many teams he works out for. WHO IS THIS GUY?

Exum is not a guy with a huge vertical. He plays below the rim. I actually think that's a good thing for his long-term health. Guys with a similar build like Penny, Kittles and Shaun Livingston had injury problems.

Smart agent if he does.
What has ruined the combine is not the agents, but the countless "experts" who do mock drafts. If a certain player is projected in the top-4 across all major mock drafts, then what's his motivation to be in the combine or go through multiple individual workouts? He can only hurt himself. You limit the workouts to the top 4-5 teams. Then, if the player isn't drafted top-4, he'll likely be viewed as a "steal" and will certainly get snatched up in the next couple of picks.

To Exum's credit, he at least came for the measurements and interviews.

He shot the ball quite well off the bounce and measured well. Every knows about his athleticism.

GRIII also shot the ball well, comparable to Rodney Hood.

Middle of the pack? It's downright garbage for ward all, let alone NBA. I REALLY hope a team like the Lakers drafts him.

Do any of you draft experts have a long enough historical memory to evaluate a player comparison I've been thinking about recently: Noah Vonleh and Otis Thorpe?

I'm thinking body type (now including hand size), athleticism, moderately but not greatly skilled low post game, good touch, etc.

Or is it useful to think of Vonleh as Otis Thorpe with probable 3-point range? That would be pretty valuable, given that Thorpe was approximately an 18/9.5 guy over a period of several years.
