Following potential 2014 draftees

Thats what ive been saying since get-go about Gordon. Basically everyone was, until some of yall got caught with a strong case of "Hype-nitis"

Some have really been pushing the SF agenda around here, interesting to see that some Exec's still don't feel that way.

Does Richard Jefferson getting the lions share of minutes at SF last season, not indicate that the Jazz value a 3pt shooter in that position?

(I've been saying this)

Also during the combine, McDermott was one of my big winners, and i bumped him up a few spots, mainly because he weighed in at 208. I took that a strong indicator he'd be playing SF, and posted it.

Ainge just wants the jazz to pass on AG?

#Celtics assistant GM Austin Ainge says Doug McDermott will be a small forward in NBA, Aaron Gordon will be a 4 until he improves shooting.
Well, that may apply to the Celtics' system, but does every team play the same way?

I have no doubt McDermott HAS to play SF in the NBA. He's not big enough or strong enough to guard the 4. As for Gordon, I think he's a swing forward and could play either spot. Sure, his shooting will need to improve. But he'd come off the bench initially for Utah, as would Vonleh or Exum. So I don't see a problem playing him against backup 3's.

it could very well be a smoke screen, who's to judge that definitively though.

In the NFL im a Vikings fan, our front office could not be any more full of **** pre-draft. There's always some bogus rumor out there, being repeated ad naseum that doesn't materialize.

Once its resulted in the Vikings selecting Christian Ponder 40 slots too high, but that GM was fired. Since then the tactic has paid off by bluffing teams out of picks, most notably The Browns paying an extra 4th round pick to move up 1 spot for Trent Richardson.

so yeah, its probably best to take these stories with a grain of salt.

You don't have any cred with me so we are okay in that dept. you're the same guy that screamed from the mountain tops that Hayward is more than a role player and about lost your mind when people didn't want to pay him $12 Million a year.

As for Vonleh, my problem with him and his game is what I already stated. He doesn't wow me. Nothing wows me about him. It's all average. If he isn't elite at SOMETHING and have another great attribute that he's very good at or doesn't stand out I have a hard time being excited about him at the #5 pick. I watch him and sometimes I forget he's on the court.

Smart? Elite defender, very good athlete
AG? Elite athlete, very good defender
Wigg? Elite athlete, very good to elite defender
Parker? Elite scorer, very good bbiq
Embiid? Will be Elite in many things at his size(guy stays healthy he's a hofer) I don't need to make his case. He's gotta go first.
Exum? No fricking clue as I don't see enough of him. People say elite first step. I don't know what to think of this guy.

Vonleh? Athlete? No, he doesn't move like one, slow off the floor (dont give a crap about combine tests, see Jimmer) defender? Average. Scorer? At just barely double digits? Nope.

Bottom line? Vonleh doesn't seem to impact the game the way I want to see.

You act like I have some agenda against Vonleh. I don't. I want to like him but what I've said above on top of the fact that he has no fire in him = I'll pass. We have enough passiveness on this team.

And I'd like to point out that I was right about Hayward. He's average. A role player. Not worth what you said he was. You spent the fall calling people names for disagreeing with you on this and it makes me laugh now.

So I thought vonleh was an excellent rebounder? Is that not counted as an nbaskill?

Some NBA Draft intel I've heard...Utah loves Dante Exum at 5, Sacramento likes Nik Stauskas at 8 & Charlotte likes McBuckets at 9

Mcbucketts would be a pretty great fit in Charlotte. Also, how good of a sign is it that he has a one word nickname? He is probably going to be at least decent in the nba. Just don't like him higher than about the tenth pick.

Being hungry isn't the only factor in evaluating a player. I think Smart's knucklehead factor might be higher and that is a reason why he isn't on my list. Now, I could be wrong and I know you weren't talking to me but I have concerns about Smart's anger issues and his shot selection. I also read an article about him criticizing his teammates. I don't know if it is true but it is a concern I would have address.

Lance Stevenson, Josh Smith and J.R. Smith are players who seem to have a lot of hunger but due to their knucklehead factors I wouldn't touch them even though they have a lot of talent. I am not saying Smart is a knucklehead and I certainly don't think he is on the level of these guys but it is a concern and is a major reason why I don't have him higher on my list. I also am concerned about his ability to play PG and his jump shot.

The only "knucklehead" thing Smart has ever done is push a fat *** fan. It's not that big of deal. He has much more positive personal traits than negative ones.

Willing to bet most GM's don't care about the incident that much, or possibly even like the display of passion.

Did anyone notice that list of projected stats of these draftees before the season, from PKM, that Cy bumped yesterday?

PKM had Vonleh around 8th in the draft, while projecting him for 5 rebounds a game.

you disagree? do you participate in the financial markets, Cy? when you do as I have on a day-to-day basis for almost 6 years, watching most participants in fear or in confusion is common. Thru the years i have built an unwavering self confidince, because i have seen my work validated 1,000's of times over. My friends are ivy league educated and run their ideas by me... why?

a wolf amongst sheep = my success against the market, i have ridiculously outpaced the market in my trading account every single year ive been up and running. My investment portfolio has also well outpaced the market every year.

back when i was really young and ambitious my goal was +15% per month...

my story is infact one of a lone wolf, most of my family is already dead, and has been for years.

swimming with the sharks = me being the little guy. starting from scratch. being self taught. I participate in a ton of "battle-ground" stocks

Position names don't matter. Gordon can defend 3's, so he can play the 3. If you have a stretch big man who can extend defenses, you can afford to play Gordon. If we have Kanter shooting 3's, having Gordon not being a 3pt shooter right away isn't a huge deal.

I think a general rule of thumb is you want 3 shooters on the floor at all times, you can get away with 2 and having 4 is great if the defense is up to par, but 3 is the number all teams should strive for.

Cy's wearing those Rose-Colored glasses yet again.

Marcus Smart had a meltdown during the West Virginia game this year, after being subbed out late in the game with a stat line of 4points on 1-7 shooting. He got to the bench and stomped on a chair, was fuming mad, inconsolable, and barking at the refs just like he was after the TTU incident.

It was also said at the combine, that teams weren't happy with his explanation of the TTU incident.

George Bush is dumb as **** and he became the President. Crazy **** happens.

Read it cuz it was posted and I read stuff that is posted on Jazzfanz, no matter how dumb. I still read The Thriller and Fabtrey's post. I don't know why. I guess I take pleasure in self-torture.

Who am I to judge? I'm a dude on the internet.

The Jazz need some fire on this team.
