Following potential 2014 draftees

Dario Saric just signed a three year deal with a Turkish club so he's basically going to be off the market for at least two more years. Nobody will touch him in the lottery or the teens now I'm guessing.

If we could move up to get him... Man that would be awesome!!

The Sixers have zeroed in on Exum and Noah Vonleh here. They are very high on Exum as a prospect. He obviously plays the same position as Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams. However, the Sixers feel the two can play together and they continue to explore Carter-Williams trades that would land them a third pick in the top 10. The Lakers have strong interest in a package of Carter-Williams and Thaddeus Young for the No. 7 pick and Steve Nash. But so far there hasn't been any traction on that deal, according to sources. Even if they don't move Carter-Williams, they might still lean toward Exum. They have him ranked as a stronger pro. - ESPN.com

I always thought the 76ers would go after hometown kid NV. Im pretty sure thats his favorite team.

However, the Hawks are also not completely sold on Jeff Teague and could explore the market for him this summer. That's led them to take long looks at both Shabazz Napier and Payton at No. 15 if something materializes in the next few days. Napier, especially, seems to have gained momentum in workouts the past few weeks, and sources say he's moved into a strong possibility in Atlanta. - ESPN.com

Exum looks a bit older in this recent pic.

This kid's interviews are ****ing money. I didnt realize this most of the year, but he certainly fits the "ultra-competitive" mold, Too bad it looks like he wont be on the board for the Jazz.

Thoughts on CJ. Wilcox? Is he in play at 23?

Wilcox is a fine niche player hes not just a stationary 3pt shooter, he can attack closeouts as well.

If C.J. was 20 or 21, it'd be different, Hes older than Burks and turns 24 before the all-star break. If #23 was their last pick, i guess theres a case to be made for a shooter, but with 35 available hes simply a reach.

Question is did Gordon's workout happen before or after Burks was thrown in. These rumors don't happen on a perfect day to day timeline. If Cleveland showed lax interest after Burks was thrown in, DL might have already told Griffin to screw himself and we are talking about ancient history.

Exactly.
Also, having Gordon in ups the pressure a bit on Cleveland. Lindsey shows them we're willing to step away from the table if they want too much. On a positive note, Lebron has decided to opt out of the final year of his contract. I know, I know...any contact is tampering. But this likely gives the Cavs some hope they can lure him back to Cleveland...if they can get another experienced player AND clear cap space. Utah has presented an offer to do both: time for Cleveland to make some concessions to get the deal done. If not, Dennis just folds his hand and tells Cleveland we're more than happy to call Milwaukee or draft Gordon.

Kinda my thoughts too, but good to hear it from another perspective. Thanks

Jazz need some 3 and D guys that play with some nastiness. Maybe they find one in an undrafted free agent, but that's primarily what I'm looking for with the later picks. However, there are some really intriguing offensive wings in this draft around there, so I don't know. If Hairston was available at #23, I think I'd grab him.

Spencer Dinwiddle really intrigues me later in the draft.

It all comes down to who the Jazz draft at #5 (or #1) and who the Jazz may/may not give up.
Draft Wiggins or Gordon, and I'd like to see Utah try to trade up with the #23 and #35 for someone like Payne. Go with Vonleh, and then Kyle Anderson or KJ McDaniels or Hairston makes sense. There are so many good players available outside the lottery and into the 2nd round. I even think the Jazz may buy some additional 2nds to "draft and stash." Why else would Dennis say in an interview some 2nd woulds be available for purchase? I think DL tries to give us little nuggets here and there while not disclosing too much. He's more open than KOC. Last year, leading up to the draft, he said there was an international player teams were sleeping on. We guessed it was Gobert and we were right; Lindsey got back into the first and grabbed him.

He was right too. For the 27th pick in a crappy draft, Gobert looked pretty damn good even though Ty barely used him. I'm looking forward to seeing how he responds to the new coaching staff. If they can get a similar prospect late this year (which should be a lot easier due to the depth of this draft) then I'm all for it.

Why is Philly so eager to trade MCW? Is he a cancer?

I just listened to Bill Simmons BS Report with Chad Ford today and they talked pretty extensively about MCW. It seemed that they feel like MCW's age coupled with the perception he overachieved a bit as a rookie in chasing the rookie of the year award has his stock really high. So they want to get the best return on him with a trade. Ford even confirmed that he talked to NBA people that confirmed that they were approached by Philadelphia about interest in MCW.

He's a chucker. Sure he was ROY, but his numbers were pretty unimpressive and inefficient. He shot 40%/26%. Jazz have a PG who was only slight better (worse on overall FG%, but better on 3's). At least MCW has size.

I think Vonleh is from the Boston area.
