Following potential 2015 draftees

Biggest discrepancies between ESPN and DX this year seems to be Stanley Johnson and Looney. DX has Johnson at #5, Ford has him at #12. DX has Looney at #14, Ford has him at #6.

One of them has to be right while the other completely wrong.

I like Johnson much better than Looney. I wouldn't be surprised if Looney goes 14, I would be shocked (and ecstatic) if Johnson goes #12...

Looney sucks... I pray someone falls in love with him early.

This draft seems to have some volatility in it... could easily see someone slipping lower and us being in a perfect position to snag them.

If all else fails I think we should just take Frank the Tank... regardless of if we bring Tomic over. I don't think our pick this year will get much playing time either way, so I'm not really worried about a logjam.

One of the smart ones here.

I think if Tomic does not come over it is completely possible that Kaminsky could overtake Booker as the 3rd big man.

In his DX scouting report last year, it looks like Kaminsky had a low BBIQ on the defensive end. But based on his higher block numbers, maybe that's changed?

He kinda reminds me of Kanter defensively,... gets lost in what he's supposed to do, wide-eyed, slow to react... I dunno man we're in such a good place defensively right now would hate to ruin that defensive culture.

Stanley Johnson. Groom him to backup Hayward. Hayward, Burks, Hood, Johnson, Jingles and Millsap at the wings.

Well two of them watch a lot of tape and are in contact with scouts and agents.
The third is campaigning and champaigning with GMs, agents and breaks news.

again.. what difference does it make how each goes about getting the best info? WOJO brings it.

Apples and Oranges.
Ford and Givony are analysts.
Woj is a reporter and columnist. He also sucks up to certain agents, gms etc. big time to get his intel.

Givony isn't really an analyst. He has that Mike Schmidt guy doing most of the analysis now. Givony is the dude who goes overseas and looks at prospects and has the connections to the talent scouts who analyze them.

For sure.

I doubt Kaminsky is as bad as Kanter on defense. He at least seems to have good timing on blocking shots.

Oubre with the most two-way potential for guys in our range tbh.

I'm starting to come around to this. It doesn't excite me, but with how the Jazz are playing, they're going to have to get lucky in the draft. Thankfully they've got assets to be aggressive and DL has a solid track record picking guys in the draft. I think they'll get a guy with potential and Quin will try to turn him into a difference maker.

His length on the perimeter with Exum and Hayward will only add to our defense, plus his quickness and ability finish at the rim will give us another threat. He should also be able to shoot 3s in the mid - high 30s.

That said, we have Burks and Hood, so I'm not 100% sure the Jazz will go for Oubre. We really need someone who can let Favors and Gobert get more rest.

I'm warning up to Kaminsky. Not really because I want Utah to draft him, so much as the potential to annoy the anti-tankers with an official tank thread every year.
