Following potential 2015 draftees

I'm somewhat heartened by the fact that the team drafting one spot ahead of us is likely to be Charlotte. This is the team that picked Cody Zeller and Noah Vonleh in back-to-back drafts, then signed Lance Stephenson.

That said, the ESPN lotto machine seems to think Charlotte will take Johnson at #9 in virtually every scenario.

Yeah Cho picked MKG... so yeah I think he'll look HARD at Johnson.

I went way out of my way to see a bunch of Mudiay's games this year ima keep it short and just say I think its heinous to have him rated over Russell at this point, Mudiay is fantastic at a few things, was very impressed with his post entry passes(2-man game ability), he can get to the FT line at will and drag defenders with him as if their a backpack, all that talent in that frame its easy to see why he's safely in the top 5, he seems to me like more of a project than advertised, and kind of flawed at this point, Mudiay's shot selection is truly awful, I had the misfortune of watching some really egregious shot attempts that left me asking 'am i seeing the bad end of a small sample size?' , He also seems at least, one click slower, and 2 clicks less vertically explosive than pre-draft John Wall imo. Call me crazy but I prefer Exum, who looks like hes on the fast track to being pretty damn good from 3 next year, and deadly from 3 in his prime.

Im also left with the indelible image of Mudiay gettng his pull-up jump shot from 17' blocked volleyball spike style, in a close game, in the waning minutes of overtime during an elimination playoff game, by a skinny 6'5" Chinese defender. while Marbury on the other end of the court running basically a layup drill, treating defenders like an afterthought.

Who would have thought PG_AB is actually Skip Bayless in disguise???

Hehe..

I'm checking out Dunn now that PG_AB mentioned him. Yeah, he's got elite talent. Plays fast. Has incredible anticipation in the passing lanes. Nice wingspan. He's like Eric Bledsoe, except bigger and a bit faster. He can work on his shot. Someone's going to be really happy getting this kid.

This is turning out to be a fascinating draft. There's a lot of interesting talent here--a really interesting variety of players.

I'm amped that PGAB 1) is back, and b) loves #BlackMessiah

Cy is gonna have a ****-fit when he realizes that they both love the same player. Gonna be fun watching Cy start to dislike D'Angelo now.

PG_AB is a dick rider, always has been.

On board with D'Angelo now that I know PGAB likes him

PG_AB had Alex Len as his #1 overall prospect in 2013, rated him as a 97, iirc.

WE all miss some. I think it's very easy to be "on board" with Russell, But the point is that he's not going to be available where the Jazz pick and there's no way, short of giving up Gobert, Favors or Hayward that anyone would trade out of the top-3 and drop to #10-12. SO the real test of one's evaluating skills is to pick the guy who will be available at the point and who will excel in the NBA. IMO, this is even harder than 2010. No one but honz liked Hayward at #9, but there were a ton of people that liked Paul George. This year we have players like Oubre, Looney, Kaminsky, Booker, etc. who might be the likely candidates left when Utah selects.

I have ZERO inside information, but just a hunch that the Jazz will either trade the pick (either at the draft or the rights to that player when free agency opens), or select a player they really like who might be ranked a bit lower.

Need I remind everyone PGAB is the guy who named himself PointGod_AlecBurks because he was so confident Burks could be a point guard?
