Whatever. I happen to agree with him. Why would you draft someone who could be the equivalent of Kanter or Boozer on defense? And to your point, I think you can draw conclusions about defensive potential from their college careers (especially with Frank} and physical attributes, like length and mobility. Teams have sub-par defenders because you probably can't fill out a roster in the NBA without them, but they don't go out of their way to sign them. Unless they are stars which, you know, Frank isn't. So you're right. You can still take a player even if they are not a great defender. But why would you if you have other options.
