Following potential 2015 draftees

No.

I'm following your Mario logic but Towns will be the best player from this draft.

I'd throw Favors and multiple first rounders (like 4 or 5 of them) for Towns. Too bad Minny says no each time.

Yikes, and no thanks. Most of what u write I usually like, but his not so much. Favors is turning into a pretty good 2 way player, and I don't think Towns is one of those cant miss complete stud that comes around once every 10 or so years. I think he'll be good but not good enough to lose Favors and some 1's. I don't think that can't miss player is in the draft this year.

Oh and Min says hell ya on that trade. Lol. Faves and 4 no. 1's if it were me I'd say yes so fast then laugh at the entire Jazz org for being sooooo dumb. Lol

Obviously we disagree. My thinking is that Towns has the potential to be a top 5 player in the league. Pair that with Rudy who could be top 10 and suddenly you have a special team. This of course is my opinion. Take it or leave it.

Also, can you tone down the Dekker love? I see a lot of Trey Burke type characteristics and he'd be good to have but not until the 20's or so.

We will have to agree to disagree on the values of Towns and Dekker. As far as Dekker being Trey... Dekker has the measurable's and a ton of physical attributes u want as a sf who can play the stretch 4 with no problem. Not a Trey Burke. Not even close

I'm talking about Dekkers rise up draft boards because of some tourney games where he hit shots at a much higher rate than during the regular season as well as his career.

Like I said, Dekker is nice but just not where the Jazz are selecting. I wouldn't consider him before 20 at all.

I still value your input even if I disagree.

I agree with you. Bathe two I hope Jazz stay from is dekker and Kandinsky. The only two in jazz range that I really hate the most.

His FT% of 70.6% seems to indicate he will always be an average to slightly below average 3 pt shooter in the pro's. If you draft Dekker, I believe you do it because you believe Wisconsin's gameplan limited his ability to show open court skills. He is a good athlete with size and length. To me is more Marvin Williams than anyone else.

I'm driving so I can't look but what did Trey Burke shoot from the free throw line in college?

Again, I like Dekker, just not before 20. If Trey was drafted in the 20's we'd feel differently about him.

I put a lot of value in the fact that it was Dekker the team leaned on during their most important games being the NCAA tournament. The fact that he's had this rise isn't unprecedented. In fact we can look at our own Utah Jazz. Drafting two players who made themselves known during their own tourney runs. D-Will and Hayward.

Dekker may not be the sexy pick but I just see the measurable's and his intangibles, the intensity he plays with and the skills are there, and if there is a coaching staff that can get the most out of a young player it's our coaching staff.

Didn't Trey do the same thing too?

We might just have a philosophical difference of opinion. I'd rather draft someone with high upside then go for someone who I believe will just be an OK role player.

The Jazz have a strong core right now, so I'd rather see them shoot for the moon then just settle on someone that would just be okay in the league.

Again, that's my personal philosophy for this year's draft.

My point is that to go along with the intangibles. Hayward and Gordon have the tools to thrive in the league where Trey really doesn't. Both Deron and Hayward had questions regarding their shooting and were able to put those questions to rest because they had the measurable's and physical qualities to succeed. So in my eyes Trey's example is not quite the same and I'd put Dekker in Deron and Hawards Category.

I understand the thought of going with the higher potential guys, but at the same time I'm glad Utah didn't go with that, and passing up guys like Stockton or Hayward or Even Deron.

U could be right we won't know till games start. I just have a feeling about Dekker.

Trey Lyles is compared to Carlos Boozer on nbadraft

That seems like an awful awful comparison. He's more of Marvin Williams or a young and skinny Boris Diaw than Boozer.

1 week to go.

The Jazz announcers would love Gudaitis. Seems like a Hansboro or Lou Admunsun type that can stick around.

Yeah I say add the one rookie the Jazz really like and then grow the team.

I'd add two. The late 1st round / early 2nd round is projected to be loaded with big men with potential. I'd definitely try to position myself to get one of them, regardless of who the Jazz draft at 12 (or higher). Any of Wood, McCullough, Jaiteh, Alexander, Holmes, Gudaitis, Martin, Christmas, Mickey or Hernangomez could all end of being steals at that point. I'd try to find the one I like most and to walk away with that guy from the 2nd round.

My personal preference is Mouhammadou Jaiteh, but I'd be happy with any of the players I listed.

Binge listening to all these Locke draft podcast... and I just can't stand his obsession with Trey Lyles.

Boy, I swear, if he brings up Trey Lyles one more time.... !!!!!!
