Following potential 2015 draftees

you guys are all funny. a couple things about the exum debate

1st - grass is always green on the other side of the fence.

2nd - QS runs a system that does NOT use a traditional pg. Russell and mudiay can play along side exum or he with them.

3rd - exum has an off season coming. what he does this off season will mean a lot for his future. he needs to bulk up a bit and work on his core strength. nothing he is doing can't be corrected.

4th - exum is 19 won't even be 20 until July.

1st-No it isn't. Bunch of homers in here.

2nd-No way do I play Exum ahead of Burks right now.

3rd-He better spend it shootin whiskey, poppin roids, and learning how to walk without looking like a 9 year old girl in a meadow. Cereal there is no man in that kid.

4th-k

He is young, but so are Mudiay (almost 19) and Russell (just turned 19) and both are further along in their development. There have been other young guys in the league, but some of the issues with Exum (like his lack of free throws) are alarming.

He is already a good defender and is using his quickness well on that end of the court. His 3 point shooting is better than I thought it would be. I just really worry about his ability to create... I am by no means writing him off, but some of the issues are a bit alarming when you compare them with other 19 year olds that have come into the league.

Our 2015 pick + Exum for Mudiay or Russell... who says no?

Also, if Exum comes in next year and doesn't show significant progress he loses much of his trade value as the top 5 shine will have worn off.

I'd look long and hard at it... not sure if I'd do it just yet though.

<---- not worried about Exum

This is good to hear... You seem level headed.

I'm not quite on the ledge, just trying to see where people are at on this question.

Who has more upside? Mudiay, Russell, or Exum. Who will be better next year?
Russell for both questions.

Mudiay is tough to evaluate because he plays in China (same reason exum was hard to evaluate..... playing in Australia)

I will admit that Russell seems like he will be very good but right now the jazz will be drafting in the bottom of the lottery. there are very few teams that will trade a lotto pick. we need to focus on who we can get in the 9-12 range.

Assuming our winning ways continue throughout the 2nd half of the season, say goodbye to D'Angelo. I love him but I wouldn't be willing to trade what it would take to get from #8-12 up to #3. I like our core as is.

We're in a pretty awesome spot, actually. Projecting a starting five of Exum, Burks, Hayward, Favors, and Rudy with Burke, Ingles, Booker, Hood, Millsap and Evans off the bench, we really just need depth at the SG/SF and PF/C positions. We really can take the best guy available.

Good post. We can go whichever way the draft directs us or is handed to us. We can go with Winslow or if Willie Cauley-Stein drops to us we can take him too. Gobert-Favors-WCS would form a pretty sick wall of defense.

Russell had 28/7/2/2 vs Purdue yesterday. Shot 9-19 and 2-6 from 3

I think we have the assets to get him... I think he will be special on offense. Put him burks and Hayward on the wing... With Gobert and favors anchoring the defense. Might be a contender in a couple years.

Jumping up from #10-12 to #2? Sure we have enough assets. All we'd have to do is trade one. His name is Rudy Gobert. Perhaps Favors and our pick MIGHT be enough too. Other than that, not a chance in hell one of the top-2 picks will be traded to Utah.

Exum, #10-12 this year, our unprotected pick next year, GSW pick, and the OKC pick... U telling me the sixers wouldn't think about it? They think less in terms of people and more in terms of assets.
