Following potential 2015 draftees

It will be interesting to see where he is picked. Relatively indiscernible draft range for Oubre imo. Maybe the tournament will help more, but I doubt it - since the whole season really didn't.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see him taken over Johnson actually. Then again, I could also see him falling to us around #12.

He can be a bit emotional and sensitive, and go off on a tangent at times, but if you can block all that stuff off he actually provides some good analysis of draftees (PKM would agree).

I can't block off all that stuff. Just not into dating the super uber hot chick that makes my life a living hell. I'd rather just pay for sex.

Well he only posts in the Draft thread anyway... so it'd be more like locking the super uber duper hot chick in the bedroom and you can just go into it whenever you feel like having sex...

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me bro.

Nah, it's not. He might be locked in the bedroom, sure, but you enter at your own risk. You never know what you will find in there. Sometimes it could be sweet, satisfying sex, but other times you could find all your children drowned in the bathtub of the adjacent bathroom or a lamp might be thrown at your head.

Damn, that dunk was sweet. Some really good plays in that vid.

He shot 19 FTs in that game (made 15). That's a really good sign; it shows me he's got the ability and willingness to drive to the basket (to pair with his smooth jumper).

Oubre is underrated IMO. I like him. He's got the physical tools and confidence to be a star. I really hope he stays in our range.

Yeah, he showed he's got some alpha in him. His wingspan is longer than Paul George's, and his mobility is as good. I see some star potential, and he looks like he wants it. He and Exum on the perimeter could smother opposing guards.

Haha... someone's been watching too many Coen brothers' movies?

Oubre has an obvious position on the wing.

Johnson's good too, but more of a power player. I actually see him becoming a David West-type forward and think that's his best move. Let him use his toughness, quickness and ability to score from mid-range in.

I really don't wanna know what kkk has in his basement.

Dennis Lindsey Interview with the Zone on Friday had this to say:

I've been thinking about this recently and one of the best characteristic that you can have as a player is "humility". The ability to look at yourself, look at the situation and honestly look in the mirror and say "Hey this is what I need to do to get better and to become a better teammate, a better player". I do think that the nature of our guys - it's a "humble group".

Quin's sessions are tough and to sit there with your peers and to take critique, but it is critical to be able to look at yourself honestly and if you can do that with the right amount of talent you can move forward. The character of the group, the work ethic of the group, and continuing to connect these dots, we need to capitalise on that.

To me this concept of "humility" and "the group" is important to him deep down. Given a talented player with character issues VS a slightly lesser player with great character or "humility" I think 10/10 times DL would go with the guy with the better character more so than any other GM in the league. (pretty sure somebody like Morey would go with the more talented guy).

Again, I don't know Oubre personally, but from what I've read, I'd be VERY surprised if DL picks him at #12.

This sounds very similar to how Cal coaches up these elite recruits. That's what he's best at.. getting them to buy into team and be selfless for their brotherhood.
It takes much more than identifying a personality trait, it takes a strong and charismatic coach, which the Jazz have.

Go BPA and allow Quin to do his thang.

I think you're exaggerating this thing with Oubre. In that article I posted awhile back I think he specifically used the word "humbling" to describe his struggles as a freshman. Is he exactly like Kawhi's personality? Maybe not, but I don't necessarily think he's the punk you portray him to be. Peeks said he doesn't think Oubre would be a locker room cancer for the Jazz.

But I really don't know. At the end of the day, I'll trust DL's decision. If he thinks Oubre's personality would be a problem, then cool. Or if there's someone else available that he just thinks is flat out BPA, then also cool. But I don't think there's enough evidence to completely brush off the possibility of us drafting Oubre.

What I been saying.

****ing finally.

As we settle into the 8-12 range, I'm more and more intrigued by Kevon Looney. He'd fit in really well with our frontcourt, gives us a lot of matchup versatility. He'd be a great 4 alongside Favors/Kanter if we wanted to go small.
