Following potential 2015 draftees

Do we even need a draft pick this year? can we fit in another young player when we already have so many good young players that need experience and growth?

Still need another big. I think a guy like Kaminsky could move ahead of Booker on the depth chart.

Hey I'm not saying he's not good! Just that he takes bad shots!

Besides, using one of the best current players, and the greatest of all time in your argument is kinda wack! Winslow ain't either of those guys! Check the 2-pt % of guys like Carroll, Millsap, Ariza, etc. Wing defenders who can hit the 3. That's what Winslow is!

I never referenced Winslow or anyone else. I just pointed out that Westbrook and Jordan use the two point shot very well.

Please stop with the Westbrook takes bad shots. He's a damn good player who's using the old school mid range jumper to kill opponents.

Pretty much every consistent efficient scorer has a mid range game. If you are ok with someone that plays D and camps out in the corner with the picks thats fine. I'd like to aim a little higher than that though.

Well Winslow is just a Freshman, his skillset isn't set in stone. I'd rather take a guy I know who is already pretty good in a few areas and has shown he can produce than a guy like Oubre, who seems like he struggles to find ways to impact the game on a consistent basis.

I will take any of the wings except Oubre (just think the guy coasts too much). He reminds me of Jeremy Lamb in a way. I just think drive is really under appreciated. The NBA is hard and he is going to need learn to grind. It is super hard to learn.

I think Winslow is okay. He is like an MKG who can shoot the 3 a bit. Not sure his motor runs as hot as MKG's but that is who he most reminds me of. He sucks at midrange, but he's good around the basket and in transition. I think he is somewhat limited, but will be good.

If you haven't watched Frank the Tank... Do it. He affects every possession his team has on offense. A good shooting big who can pass and dribble a bit. I see no reason he can't be on Memo's level some day.

He shoots 43%. That isn't exactly stellar.

Problem is we need Gobert on the court more than anyone, and going by his minutes recently, Quin agrees. Rudy's minutes are averaging 36 a game recently.
Neither Rudy or Frank can play PF, so 12 minutes as a backup is not worth it for a valuable lottery pick.

It wouldn't be a good idea to play Rudy 36 minutes per game. He needs to play 32ish... gotta think long term with big dudes. No other guy we are talking about should play more than 12-16 minutes per game. I wouldn't want Oubre, Booker, etc. getting more than 12 minutes per. Long term it may be a bit of a log jam, but you have 4 years to figure it out and if the guy is the best player available he becomes a huge trade asset. It also gives us different looks. As we become a playoff team this will be important to allow us to exploit other teams weaknesses.

I do think if somehow Stanley Johnson fell to us or we traded up that he could play 20 minutes a night.

I want either KJ McDaniels or Justin Anderson.

obviously either trade up and draft Anderson or offer a 3 yr 15 mil (guessing) to mcdaniels.

I want a draft and stash player in the second vezenkov is my target.

I want another scoring threat.

Yes. We need a SF and a backup C. Hopefully tomic fills one. I don't know if we need one next year though. I want them to use the 2016 first to move up to 5-7 area and get their pick of the SF types available. 5 would be great, if Russell, Towns, Mudiay, and Okafor are gone, that leaves Johnson, Hezonja, Winslow, Oubre, Looney, Booker. I like Johnson the most. He would be able to play spot minutes as the backup PF as well if Booker isn't retained long term.

I think that backup PG is a need, but am willing to give Burke 1 more year to see if something clicks. If not, then pick up a veteran PG in FA in 2016-2017 or bring over neto.

I agree with this but I think Dl will know by draft time if tomic is coming over. If he is waffling at all you draft Kaminsky and fill the SF need in the off season

-Jeff Green
-Mirza Teletovic
-Iman Shumpert
-Corey Brewer
-Loul Deng
-Kris Middleton
-Jared Dudley
-thad Young
-Tobias harris
-KJ McDaniels
-Gerald Green
-Danny Green

Now some of those are starters and others are roll players. I would rather Just stay and pick BPA and then fill after that

Now as far as a back up PG the name that jumps out the most to me

-Matthew Dellavedova
-Gary neal
-Nick Calathes
-Corey Joseph

The Jazz have some money to spend. If hood can stay healthy and his issues are just flukes he probably deserves to start meaning dont spend money on the bigger names. Lets assume this is true

Exum, Dellavedova (burke traded in a SnT)
Hood, Burks, Millsap
Hayward, McDaniels (see SnT), Ingles
Favors, Booker and or teletovic (i am a big fan of his shooting specially on that second team)
gobert, Kaminsky, Pleiss

All those could be be had with out destroying their cap flexability. McDaniels say 3 years 15 mil with a 4th year option, teletovic with 2 years 6 mil, dellavedova 3 years 15 mill (contracts could be back loaded)

We only need a back up SF though right with Hayward starting? Now that Hood seems like a solid starter at SG. No need to go out and spend too much on another SF to just come off the bench IMO ...

1. If we go with SF with our 1st rounder, then bring over Pleiss as a backup Center.

2. If we go with C/PF with our 1st rounder, then why not pick a defensive SF with our 2nd rounder? We have Ingles as our insurance policy anyway right?

jazz don't need to many more rookies

Can't rely on a second rounder. If they aren't getting one of Tomic/Pleiss, and they draft a big in the first (Kaminsky, WCS, Turner) then get a SF through FA (Green, Green, Green, Junk yard dog) (I'm only joking about how many Green's there are as FA, don't really think Draymond is an option).

SG will be stacked next year with Hood starting, Burks off the bench (big minutes) and Millsap if need be.

At SF, Hayward is gonna play what 35min as a starter, Ingles has shown he can play big minutes and contribute.

My question is - why do we need to pay $$$ to Green/Carroll to just come off the bench? Why not have Ingles back up Hayward and groom another SF if need be.

We don't, but I'd rather have Ingles as a 11th 12th guy than 8th guy getting regular minutes. They could play Hood a bit with the second team as SF and have a 3 man rotation with Burks, Hayward and Hood. Ingles would play 10 minutes a game, and more when one of them is injured. I'd be fine with that. But I also wouldn't mind if they got a good SF to play along side Burks in the second unit (I like somehow getting Stanley Johnson for Defense at backup SF and also playing some PF with a small ball). They do need a backup C though, and if Tomic or Pleiss isn't coming over they may use their draft pick on one.

As far as paying the money Jazz have cap space for the next 2 years before needing to sign Rudy, and will likely have plenty that year. Nothing wrong with having a solid player like that on the bench (although I don't know if they would sign knowing they would likely come off the bench). But with the right player, even Hood could be moved to the bench as SF. Don't know that I like that idea, but it is an option. Right now the Jazz are in a pretty good spot with A lot of options.

this is why I say trade down and get Justin Anderson or trade out and get KJ mcdaniels. both are intense defenders and have shown the ability to hit the 3 ball. both are super athletic and like to defend.
