I hope we don't settle for a player @ #11 who doesn't have an opportunity to eventually become a starter (PF/C), unless it's for a rare commodity such as a potentially elite defensive (WCS) or stretch (Porzingis) big. Imo, there are 9 players worth taking with our pick: Towns, Okafor, Russell, Mudiay, Hezonja, Winslow, Johnson, Porzingis, & WCS. We certainly have the assets necessary to move up a few spots (or more) to acquire one of those players, & that should be our first priority as this will likely be our last opportunity to acquire another top tier talent. While I do like a lot of the prospects in the #10-20 range, the drop off in talent level from #1-9 & #10-20 is significant enough, & the talent level in the #10-20 range is close enough, that it would be the best use of what will likely be our highest pick in the near future to either trade up into the #1-9 range or trade back (around #20ish), & take bpa, while collecting an extra asset or 2. If Tomic isn't coming over or we can get something of value for Booker, I have no problem drafting a backup big, as it will be an area of need, so long as it's not at #11/12. A small market team, as close to competing as we are, can't afford to not maximize every asset possible & taking a backup player @ #11/12 would not be doing so, unless that player is a special talent.
